Stamping in a heart (and NEWS!)

So for October, the ScrapStreet team showcased some My Favorite Things stamps and projects. I thought I would share a layout that I made for the article. I received a stamp set with a lot of words and I wasn't sure how I wanted to incorporate them all onto my layout. But then it hit me to try something a little different. Here's what I did:

I cut a heart from scratch paper and used the negative part as a mask.

I stamped the words all so they would be inside my heart.

Then I even decided to stitch around the heart to make it even more obvious. Here's what my final layout looks like:

And here are some close up's:

To see my supplies and what the rest of the team did with the MFT stamps, go here.

Since we are talking about ScrapStreet, I thought I'd share a layout that I made for last month's issue:

I used the Summer Breeze line from My Little Shoebox. :) Love this line! And then I adhered everything together with Helmar Adhesives. I used Helmar Premium Craft Glue for most of it. But if you look at the layout close, you'll see the frame (along with bird and journaling) are all lifted up. I did that with the Helmar's awesome Liquid Scrap Dots. Here are some close up's:

This layout was in last month's Strips and Scraps article. If you want to check that out, you can still see it here.

Hope you have a wonderful day!!!

DT Tuesday at Unity!

Hi everyone! I did the post over at Unity's blog today...just shared a bit about myself. Hope you can check it out! :) I did share a new project that I just made....

I painted a canvas and made a bit of home decor for the upcoming season. I stamped and embossed each of those fantastic pumpkins from the Simple Blessings stamp set.

I also have another layout to share with you that uses stamps from Unity. It was one I did for my ScrapStreet "Get your Stamp On" article:

There's a bunch of stamps from a bunch of different stamp sets on that layout. :) That was for last month's issue of ScrapStreet.

Have you checked out September's issue yet?

It is rockin!!! I love this issue! My own article can be found here (I also have another layout in there that uses Unity!), but you should read the whole thing! :)

And check out their current calls!!! I hope you all submit.

Have a wonderful, fantastic day! (And I will be back with winners later).

ScrapStreet is the best!

Did you know that ScrapStreet has over 10,000 subscribers? And over a MILLION hits a month on the magazine! I have heard people say that they don't submit to online magazines, only print ones. But why would you not want to be part of a magazine that has that many followers? It is seriously THE BEST online magazine out there! I thought that even before I became part of the team. :)

So check out the current magazine here.

And did you notice that AMAZING layout on the cover? It is stamped! It was a submission for my "Get Your Stamp On" article, but landed on the cover instead. :)

Do you want to be on the cover of the magazine AND win a wonderful prize, check out this post here.

And here are our current calls, there's still time to submit, they are due August 30th.

So hope you all submit, submit, submit!!!

Thought I would share a few projects that I did that were in the July issue of ScrapStreet. It was for an article about Whimsy Stamps.

For details and supplies on these projects, check out that article.

I'm off. :) Hope you have a wonderful day...and I hope you check out the August issue of ScrapStreet and then submit!

I {heart} stamping

Hi everyone!!! Thought I would post another layout from the "to be posted on the blog" pile. :) And it's my friend Tracey's favorite layout. :) It was in June's ScrapStreet magazine.

That big butterfly is a stamp from Tattered Angels. I stamped it twice on white cardstock. One of them was for another project. Then I cut them out. Afterwards, I was looking at that white piece of cardstock and thought it looked so cool with the butterflies cut out of it...so I used it! :) I put patterned paper behind them. I even did my journaling around one of them. I do like how it turned out...another idea you can do with your scraps/leftovers! :) Here are some close up's:

And don't forget about ScrapStreet's current calls! I hope you submit! :)

Have a wonderful Friday!
