ScrapStreet and Lily Bee

There's still time to get those submissions in for ScrapStreet! Check out the calls here. Due date is September 29th. We want to see them ladies...so get em' in! :) Here's my specific call:

Call 2: Piece for the Holidays: Paper Piecing is very popular...we want to see your holiday layouts and projects where you creatively make your own embellishments by paper piecing (i.e. Christmas trees, Gingerbread houses, etc.).

I do hope you submit. :)

Here are some projects I did for ScrapStreet that were in last month's issue. We all got to work with Lily Bee Design.

I simply adore their fantastic rub-ons. :) To see the whole article on Lily Bee Design and to view my supply list, go here.

Have a wonderful day!!!

Helmar and Lily Bee

Yuck...that is how we've been lately. First, Eryn was sick, then hubby was sick, and boy did it ever hit me last night...yuck. But I wanted to hop on here and post because frankly, the things I need to post are totally piling up. :)

Here's a layout that I made for the Helmar blog. Last week Helmar was patnering with Lily Bee Design, so I got to use some of their beautiful papers too. And their rub-on's are fantastic!!! Anyways, here's that layout:

I adhered everything to the layout using Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive except the fabric swirl, which I adhered with Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots to make it pop off the page a little bit. The papers and rub-on's are from Lily Bee Design.
Here are some other Helmar preferred partners that I used on this layout:
  • Buzz and Bloom--The fabric piece (LOVE this!!!) and the chipboard hearts are from them!
  • MyStampBOX--The eggs are a stamp from them.
  • Tattered Angels--I sprayed Glimmer Mist on the chipboard hearts. :)
Here are some close up's of my layout:

And I wanted to pass along some info...

Unity Stamp Company is starting to share sneaks of their new stamps for CHA. They are sharing them on their facebook page and you can win them too! Today is day 1 of 15 days of giveaways!!! AND there is a chance to win a $100 gift certificate! So...if you are not yet a fan of Unity on facebook...head on over (and you can tell them I sent you)!!!!!

First Scrap and Stamp Challenge

So today is the first challenge ever over at Scrap and Stamp.  The challenge was two-fold.  First, you must use a sketch designed by yours truly.

I have posted this one before on my blog.
Secondly, it should have a Summer theme.
Oh...and of course, it must include stamping.  :)

So, this is the layout I made for the challenge:

Journaling reads:
"Summer break = All Play All Day to the boys, but seriously...how long can you guys go up and down the road over and over again driving, or pushing, a toy?  Over and over and over..."

Confession time.  I love making sketches.  Don't particularly love using them though.  :)  And I am not completely happy with this layout of mine.  But that is ok, right!

I do hope you play along with us!!!  The sponsor for this week is Limelight Papercrafts.  See the fabulous prize package on the Scrap and Stamp blog.

Have a great Saturday!

I {heart} trim...oh and Lily Bee too! :)

So it seems like just yesterday I couldn't believe my baby was in Kindergarten.  Now I can't believe he is out of Kindergarten!  I've already started my list of things to do this summer.  But guess what is one of the things Austin wants to do.  :)  He wants to take an art class!  He's already said that he wants to spend a lot of time crafting with mama too.  He's so sweet.  But don't worry...I'll make sure he plays outside too.  :)

I've got a mini album to share with you today.  I made it for this contest.  Nothing like waiting til the last minute.  The contest's last day is today and I sat down and made the album last night.  Those Lily Bee papers are ADORABLE and right up my alley!  Love those colors!  Love the birds and the trees!  These papers were made for me.  :)  And you know how much I love trim so I played around a lot with that too.  Here it is:

And I learned a new trick (for me) with making this album.  I usually do back-stitching for all my projects.  But I wanted my stitching to look good on both sides.  So I sewed through once so it looked like this:  --  --  --  --  and then came right back through doing the same thing to make it go like --------.  Then I tied a little knot (which just adds to the design) and ta da...looks great on both sides.  I don't think I explained that very well.  Maybe I will type up a tutorial on that.  :)  Anyways, here are the pages of the album:

I made this album while I was watching "New In Town."  Such a cute movie.  I was worried that I wasn't going to really like it because I thought it was going to give scrapbookers a bad name.  There's scrapbooking in it...did you know that?  Well it wasn't nearly as bad as I thought it was going to be and didn't really bother me at all.  No the scrapbooking wasn't like the modern scrapbooking...but it wasn't that bad!  So I recommend the movie to any and all.   :)

Have a fabulous friday and an awesome weekend everyone!!!
