Prima Happy

So I have many layouts titled "Happy", so I have to get a bit creative when naming a file on my computer so I don't have several different files called Happy. For the layout I am sharing with you today, I called it "Prima Happy" since it was made with almost all Prima products and for a Prima challenge. I thought that was kind of appropriate though...I am a little Prima happy. :) Thus the title of my post.

Before I share my layout with you, let me share with you Prima's Product Pick for this month:

You can read all about it and play along here on Prima's blog.

And here is the layout I made for the challenge:

Doesn't it look like a garden or a bed and breakfast (which I've been looking at online lately) or something? I love it. :) SO me.

Here's some close up's:

I stamped that tree with purple paint and one of Prima's large foam stamps. Then added those cute flowers.

That little girl is stamped as well. She was orignally a beach girl...wearing a bathing suit. I made a skirt for her. :)

I sprayed the happy canvas letters with Glimmer Mist. It actually looks more purple in real life then it photographed...oh well. That fence is one of my favorite chipboard pieces from Magistical Memories. I've used it before, in case you were wondering. :) I simply painted it pale yellow for this layout.

Prima has such gorgeous flowers!

Oh and papers! I LOVE Prima's papers. In fact, I probably like their papers best out of all their products! Which may surprise some, usually Prima is known for their flowers.

That piece behind all my squares is the packaging from one of Prima's alphabets. I LOVE how Prima designs it's packaging so it can be used as well! I've done that lots...NEVER throw it out.

And there you have it.

So you have until May 30th to play along with this month's Prima Product Pick.

Thanks for stopping by! Have an amazing day! :)

Holy cow (in more ways then one)

My boys have done nothing but fight lately...like 24/7! They are no longer friends. They are mortal enemies. It's driving me a bit crazy. And I had so looked forward to summer break and the extra time with the kids. Now, I'm a bit scared. I so want them to be friends...best friends. I don't remember ever fighting this much with my siblings. Sure, we fought, but we had moments of fighting and moments of friendship. I don't know if it's a boy thing, or perhaps it is this way for every sibling and I am just remembering it better then it really was.

Even when I try to get them together to take a picture, one of them is always pushing the other away. And forget a hug! What an impossible request mom! :) BUT...I did manage to get some decent pictures the other day. So I just had to get them on a layout.

Crate Paper has a FANTASTIC sketch up on their blog right now!

I seriously love it. I found it so inspiring. Go check it out! There's still time to play along.

Here's the layout I made using it....

I didn't stray from the sketch too much...simply because I loved the sketch. And I finally got to play with the Toy Box collection from Crate Paper! I was so excited about it and I just hadn't had time yet to sit down and use it. But I knew I wanted to pull it out for this sketch. :)

Here's some close up's of my layout...

I used adhesive from Helmar to put it all together. I used the 450 Quick Dry adhesive and then some Zapdots to help pop up some of my elements. I often forget to mention my adhesive when I am making my blog posts, just know that I always use Helmar. They are simply the best. :)

And there you have it.

And my son has officially graduated from Kindergarten.

(That's Hayden and his teacher)

That happened last night. Wow. Time flies. I can't believe he is going into first grade! This next year is going to be a change for us. Eryn and I will be by ourselves a lot more since Hayden will be in school the full day. At least Eryn's not in school. I'm not ready for that yet.

Have a wonderful day everyone! And as always, thanks for stopping by! :)

I lied.

I do have another layout to share with your that I made for ScrapStreet. Although it seems almost silly to post it now. It's the layout I made for my Holiday Piece article. But I have to share it with you because I just loved how it turned out. Here's the layout:

I found an image in online clip art. I then printed it and used it as a template...cutting different parts of the reindeer out of different pieces of paper and then piecing it all together.

Isn't he cute? :) Here are some more close up's...

To view the article as well as the complete supply list of my layout go here.

Well it's the last week of school for the kiddos. Just got to make it through it. I actually look forward to having them home and playing outside a bunch, as well as hitting the pool and going on some fun trips/adventures.

Have an awesome day!

Inspiring Colors!

So last week I sat down and did the color challenge over on the Crate Paper blog. I couldn't pass this one up, I just found it SO inspiring. And the colors were so out of the ordinary for me.

This was the color challenge:

See! Isn't it beautiful! And I knew just what pictures to use with this color scheme. :)

So here's my layout:

And the close up's:

*tip: the leftover part of stickers can be a fun addition to any project. See how under my border sticker, I used part of the leftovers. :)
*tip: don't have the color alphabet that you want to use? Paint them! That's what I did here, I used black foam letters and then painted them blue. :)

I splattered paint after the layout was complete simply because it looked like it needed a bit more of the blue on it.

And here I just stuck a few extra pieces of paper behind the one and curled them all over. Just trying something new. :)

I'm happy with how it turned out. Crate Paper already picked a winner for the challenge as well as some of their favorites, you can view those here.

Well I hope it stops raining here so I can get some outside work done, like mowing the lawn! It's rained all week. And I love the rain, but I am ready for it to stop. I still have a bunch of wood chips sitting in my driveway, waiting to be moved back to the new swing set. I'm ready for the sun.

Thanks for popping in today!

Have a wonderful day!

Zva Creative

Ok...I think this is the last catch up blog post for stuff I've done for ScrapStreet...I think. In March ScrapStreet featured Zva Creative in the Showroom. So I got to play with their bling and flowers! :) Here are some things I made...

Now this first layout was one I wasn't extremely happy with. It just didn't match my vision. That happens sometimes. So I was really surprised when it was feature on the first page of that issue in the table of contents. I should have known...it's always the layouts that I'm not sure about that everyone seems to love. :) Here it is...

I do love those bling trees...they are so cool. :) Here are some close up's...

And another layout...

The close up's...

And finally a very simple card...

You can view complete supply lists for my projects in the feature on Zva Creative in ScrapStreet.

Thanks Zva Creative for letting me play with your goodies. :)

And just wanted to let you know that I listed some of my cards for sale on ebay. I've never sold stuff I have made on ebay...so we'll see how it goes, but you can click on these links to view what I am selling:

Adventures in the Dark

So last night I got this brilliant idea. AFTER I put the kids to bed, I thought I could go out and work on staining the kid's swing set that we just put up. Just a side note...I probably should have stained the wood before putting the swing set together, oh well, but I thought I'd mention that in case you have a swing set in your future. Back to the story...to be honest, it was the most peace I experienced the whole day...the kids had the day off and man did they fight and misbehave all day...it was one of those long frustrating days when you sigh a big sigh of relief when the day is over. Anyways...so there I am, outside, at night and it keeps getting darker. I'm happily staining away thinking I should do this kind of stuff at night more often...I felt like I was getting it done and doing a really good job. :) Then it just gets too dark to keep going. So I go and get a light and bring it out. Wow...I wasn't doing as good a job as I thought I was. :) There were drips and missed spots. So I tried to fix what I could and then went in. That's where I discovered that I myself was covered in drips of stain as well. A normal person would have maybe freaked a little and cleaned it off right away. But I found it totally inspiring and decided to hit the scrapbook room (I DID shower first though). I am so weird. I thought I would get a bit artsy, but then I decided to make a layout. I pulled out some favorite papers that I have had for awhile and hadn't used. They were from My Mind's Eye. I remembered that MME had a sketch challenge up on their blog, so that's what I decided to do. For a brief moment my life seemed back to normal...me up late at night scrapping...I haven't done that in a while.

Here's my layout:

It is based off this MME sketch:

Most of what I used comes from the Lost and Found collection from MME.

There is so much texture on this layout...I love it. :)

Here are some close up's:

It's nice to be blogging and scrapping again. Most of what I have been posting is not new stuff...just stuff I hadn't posted yet, but this layout is totally new. Yeah! :)

Ok, well have a fantastic day!

Unity, I adore you! :)

Ok...so it's no secret that I ADORE Unity Stamp Company! They are by far my favorite stamp company out there. Their rubber, their quality and their designs are the BEST! So I was thrilled when ScrapStreet featured them in The Showroom last January. Here's one of the layouts I made for that article:

The stamps are of course from Unity. The papers and stickers are all from Webster's Pages (another favorite of mine!). To view the whole supply list, go here.

Here are some close up's for ya...

You can view the Unity showcase article here. If you haven't tried using stamps on your layouts I HIGHLY RECOMMEND trying it! I love stamping. :)

Hope you have a remarkable, fantastic Monday.
