Scrap and Stamp Saturday

Happy Halloween everyone!!! Hope you have a fun and safe holiday. Austin is going to be Darth Vader, Hayden is going to Anakin Skywalker (their choices), so what else would Eryn be but....

Yoda! :) (Yoda is the one that kicks butt anyways, whichever movie that is where he opens up a can).

I hope to get some cute pics.

Anyways, the challenge over at Scrap and Stamp is simply to make a Halloween scrapbook page that includes stamping. Here is what I did:

All the papers and die cuts are from Rusty Pickle's "Thriller" line. And I opened my brand new stamps from Pink Persimmon...that banner stamp, love it!!! :)

So I hope you join us this week for the challenge. After all, we should all have some pictures to scrap after tonight, right. :)

Again, have a fun and safe Halloween!!!

Here's the sketch for the week:

"Give thanks to the Lord, for He is good; His love endures forever."
1 Chronicles 16:34

If you are like me, this verse makes you want to sing out to the Lord...ok, maybe it's just me...I like to sing. :) But isn't it good to know that our God is GOOD and that His love endures FOREVER! Our challenge at Stampin' Sisters in Christ used this verse for our challenge this week. The challenge is to make a card or project that expresses your thankfulness or encourages someone to be thankful. I decided to make something for my parents. I really thought of my mom's style as I made this and made something she would like. Course, I ended up loving it myself. :) Anyways, here is what I made for the challenge:

I hope you play along with us this week. :)

Have an AWESOME Sunday. Take time to BE with the Lord.

Scrap and Stamp Saturday

**Don't forget my giveaway in the post below**

Hello! Hope you are having a fantastic weekend so far. The challenge for this week at Scrap and Stamp is to make a page that includes stamping on an embellishment (chipboard, flowers, buttons, ribbon...). Our sponsor is Pebbles and they sent each of the DT something to play with. :) So here's my page with papers and stickers from Pebbles and stamping on chipboard and felt:

Close up's:

I used a stamp set from Pink Paislee. And those chipboard letters are from Maya Road. I tried to make it look more comic-book-y but I am not sure I succeed. Everything is so big on the page! Definitely different than what I usually do. :)

Well I do hope you play along with us!!! Check out the challenge and prize here.

Have a great Saturday!!!

Why do you scrapbook?

The challenge over at Scrapbooks Etc is to make a layout about why you scrapbook. By doing the challenge, you have a chance to get published...so why not try. :) You can check it all out here on their challenge blog. The deadline is Nov. 9th. Here is the layout I made for the challenge:

That picture is printed on canvas. :) Here's a close up of the journaling:

The journaling reads:

"I grew up with a mother who just threw photos in piles in the corner. Nobody ever sees them. You cant find anything in particular. And for the most part we hardly remember anything about those we do see. There are no stories! This is part of the reason I started scrapbooking. I want to show off the photos. I want to record the stories! I want to just say no to the piles (and believe methey were much much bigger than the pile in this picture!). But I still love you mom!"

You never know...you make just get published by uploading your layout for the challenge...I encourage everyone to go for it. :)

Supplies:
Papers--Studio Calico, Pink Paislee, Crate Paper, and Cosmo Cricket, Canvas (photo printed on it)--Claudine Hellmuth (Ranger), Letter Stickers--Rose Moka, Die Cut--My Little Shoebox, Flower--Prima Marketing, Chipboard scissors--American Crafts, Computer Program--Microsoft Word, Computer Font--1942 report, Machine Stitching.

SSCC 9

Another fabulous challenge for Stampin' Sisters in Christ this week. Our verse today is well-known. And you may think it is too early for Christmas, but now is the perfect time to start on those Christmas cards. :)

"Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is Christ the Lord."
Luke 2:11

Now, if you think about this, this really goes way beyond the Christmas story and Christmas cards. What God did...sending His son to earth to die for our sins...forever changed the world! Because Christ was born, we can live. Because Christ was born, our sins can be wiped free. Because Christ was born, there is HOPE! And that hope is still alive. Even if you are not a Christian, you know the story, you know Christ was born in a manger. But this story has a way of impacting every part of your life. It has impacted my life. I am who I am because Christ was born that day. God truly showed us how much He cares about us through this very thing. There is true power behind this statement (the verse). It is so much more than just the beginning of a story. (And if you ever do want to talk to me about it, never hesitate to).

Ok, now on to the card. :)

So the challenge is to make a card or project featuring the nativity or other religious theme about Christ's birth.

My card is REALLY simple. But somehow, it just seemed appropriate. Maybe it was the mood I was in. Here it is:

That tag can pull out and be used as a bookmark, or whatever. :)

I hope you play along with us this week. Check out what everyone else did here at SSCC. And have an awesome Sunday! Take a moment to thank God for how truly amazing He is!

Scrap and Stamp Saturday

Wow, I have been super busy! I hope to slow down today. :)

The challenge this week at Scrap and Stamp is to create a scrapbook layout about something you are thankful for. :) And of course, it must include at least one stamp on it. Here's the layout I made...I was planning on doing a lot of journaling on this page, but once I had the pictures, I felt like they kind of spoke for themselves and I didn't need a lot of journaling.

And they are having a DESIGN TEAM CALL right now! So check it out! It's a good way of getting yourself to make those layouts and using your stamps! Plus it is a fun team to be on! I hope you go for it. :)

Supplies for "Happy Thankful Home" layout:
Cardstock --Bazzill, Paper--Sassafras (only one sheet!), Stamps--Studio Calico ("Happy" and house) and Unity Stamp Company (wheat), Velvet Rub-on--Laura Ashley, Gems--Making Memories, Pebbles (orange dots)--Pebbles, Inc., Ribbon--Studio Calico, Chipboard Letters--Cosmo Cricket, Thread--DMC.

MLS Canvas

Ok, here is what I made with a canvas, some paint and my My Little Shoebox stuff (from the Whoo Loves You line). I made it to hang on my wall in my scrapbook room. I really love how it turned out.

And it came together really fast! :)

Short post today.

Hope you all have a fantastic Friday!

My Little Shoebox Layouts

So I have some layouts to show you using My Little Shoebox. They use the Whoo Loves You line. I really like how the first one turned out. I was trying to think of new things to do with the scalloped circle papers. :)

Tomorrow I am going to show you a canvas that I created with this line of papers. :)

Hope you are having a wonderful day! I feel like mine is off to a bad start, but hopefully it will get better. :)

Another two-pager

And not only is it a two pager, but it has all 4x6 photos on it! Not typically my thing. :)

All the papers, Die cuts and chipboard are from Rusty Pickle. The pictures are from when we went to the Royal Gorge for the day. They have the highest suspension bridge in the world...and I HATED it! You walk on this long bridge that sways back and forth...with huge cracks so you see ALL the way down...and there was a lot of wind! They would also let cars drive on it...so every now and then you had to move over and let a car go by and all the boards seemed to go up and down with the cars. It just wasn't my thing...I don't think I will ever feel the need to go back. :)

Here are some close up's from the layout:

Well I hope your day is going great so far! Happy Tuesday! :)

SSCC 8

This week at Stampin' Sisters in Christ our scripture verse is

Jeremiah 1:5:
"I knew you before I formed you in your mother's womb."

Isn't it amazing! Take a moment and think about God...our sovereign Lord...who created the world...who is able to do all things...our MAJESTIC Lord, the King of all kings! Now think about us...little old us. Just the mere fact that God knows us at all is AMAZING! And believe me...He does! HE KNOWS YOU just as He knows me. He sees us, He loves us and He knows us like nobody else can. And He knew each one of us before we were even born. HE is SOOOO good!

The Challenge

The challenge this week is to make a baby card or other item for a new baby or expecting parent. This challenge came at a perfect time for me. I have a good friend who is going to pop any minute. :) So I made a gift bag to take to the hospital when he does arrive.

The papers I used are from Pebbles, Inc. and the stamps are from Unity Stamp Company. Here are some close up's:

I do hope you choose to play along, you never know when you may need a baby card. :)

Have a wonderful Sunday everyone!

Scrap and Stamp Saturday

**If you are looking for the birthday blog hop, scroll down to next post. :)

So the challenge this week at Scrap and Stamp is to make a summery layout. Now that summer is no longer around...let's try to bring it back into our thoughts by making one more scrapbook page about summer (and make sure it has stamping on it). The sponsor is My Heart Stamps 4 You...so check it out.

I actually had a tough time with this challenge. Our sponsor sent us stamps, but the ones I got were about surfing and stuff which there is none of here in Colorado. :) So I had to get a bit creative.

Here's the layout I made:

You have to look at the journaling for the layout to make sense! :) Otherwise you'd be like "what???" The papers and die cuts are all from Rusty Pickle's "Panama Jack" line.

Well we are off to look at new dishwashers today! Have an awesome Saturday!

Happy Birthday Laurie!!!

So today is Laurie's birthday...and we decided to have a birthday blog hop for Laurie. We made her cards and we all brought something to our party. :) So start the party (blog hop) at the Stampin' Sisters in Christ blog!

If you are coming from Helen's blog...then you are in the right place. So sit down, have a cup of coffee and enjoy the party!

Here is my card that I made for Laurie:

I sprayed a little glimmer mist on the background. The cupcake stamp is Unity Stamp Company and the "birthday wishes" is from Stampin' Up! The papers are from My Little Shoebox.

And what would a party be without a little laughter...so I know you have probably already seen this one...but why not watch it again. And smile...life is good! :)

Now continue the party by hopping on to Kristine!

And if you haven't already, make sure you also stop by Laurie's blog and wish her Happy Birthday!

BOO!

So I have another Halloween project to show you today. I really like how this one turned out.

Those papers are...wait you'll never guess...yep...from those same papers from Rusty Pickle that the other stuff has been made with (Costume Party Line). The wooden pumpkin is from Say it with Letters. I have a pile of her stuff just waiting to be used...and I love them all. I remembered I had got a pumpkin last year so I dug it out. Those big chipboard letters are from Rusty Pickle too. This project was actually really simple.

Well it's Friday...it has finally come. Hope you have a great one!

RP Witch :)

Ok, so this one my son and I did together. We used the witch from the Costume Party line of papers from Rusty Pickle as a template and created a paper-piecing. I cut the pieces and we treated it like a puzzle which my son helped me put together. He also picked which paper was which piece and then told me what we should add to our project. He is very proud of this one. :)

It's funny...because I'm not sure I LOVE how it turned out BUT my son is so proud of it, and when I look at it I will think of us putting it together...so it will probably more treasured then the rest of the projects that I do. :)

Hope you are having a fantastic Thursday! (Friday's almost here!)

Halloween...

can you believe that it is almost here? Seriously, this year has just flown by....faster then the previous years!

So I was thinking...I have NO halloween decorations...zero...nada...zilch! So I am going to try to crank out some halloween projects to decorate the home with.

Here's number 1 (click to view bigger):

I used a wooden plaque from Say it with Letters. All of the paper, chipboard letters, and trim are from Rusty Pickle. The papers are from their Costume Party line. I know it looks a little weird with the hallo on one line and the ween on the next...but sometimes you just got to get a bit creative to fit what you want on something. :) I already have another project done (which I will show you tomorrow) and I am hoping to get several more things too. SO if you are looking for things you can do for Halloween...you are in the right spot! :) Keep coming back.

Have an awesome hump day!

SC Sketch 164

Ok, so this week's sketch is really not a new sketch, I posted it in the Scrap and Stamp group a little while back. But here's your chance to see it again and maybe do it this time.

Here are some samples from the fabulous SC gals...

Cathy--
Marilyn--

Post a link if you play along!

And have a terrific Monday!!! I'm actually not feeling too well today, so I hope that goes away quickly.
