Hoppin'

Well hello there!  Today Ruby Rock-It is hopping with Scrap FX.   So if you just happened upon my blog, why don't you join in and start the hop here.  If you came from Misty's blog, then you are in the right place.  :)  And this is actually day 2 in the hop, so if you missed day 1, go here for that.

And what is a blog hop without some prizes?  So here's what is up for grabs:

That is the beautiful new At Last collection from Ruby Rock-It,  and a whole bunch of fantastic chipboard goodies from Scrap FX.  I think this is the same bag I received from them and let me tell you, it is AWESOME!  :)

Here's how you can win: ** Visit each participating designer's blog each day on the hop & leave a comment.  There are only 11 - 12 blogs each day,  so it's VERY do-able!  {make sure you include your email address so we can contact you if you win} For additional chances to win, check out the Ruby Rock-It blog.  Deadline to leave comments for prizes 11:59pm EST, Monday, August 19th. Winners will be announced on Scrap FX and Ruby Rock-It blogs on Tuesday, August 20th! If you get lost along the way, you will be able to find a complete list of participating blogs each day here at Ruby Rock-it and over at Scrap FX!

Today I am sharing a layout that uses the At Last collection from Ruby Rock-It and several pieces of chipboard from Scrap FX including the Large Scribble Heart, part of the Memories Words set, and the fabulous Flutterby H Curly Feelers.

Yep...a layout using a wedding collection and a large heart and it is not about romance or weddings.  :)

Here are some close up's of my layout:

I like how it turned out.  :)  Did you read the journaling?  A thrill-seeker she is not.  ;)

So...

Your next stop on the hop is the wonderful Pattie Beltran.

Thanks for stopping in!
Have a fabulous day!

Cousins

Hi everyone!!  Today I have another layout to share with you.

I really enjoyed spending time with all my cousins last month.  It had actually been quite awhile since I'd seen them.  But one thing hadn't changed...there's no shortage of females in our group.  Including my own family, the group of cousins includes 8 girls and 2 boys.  I wanted to make a layout about my cousins, so I pulled out the fabulous Paper Cottage collection from BasicGrey and made this:

I really really really LOVE this collection.  :)

I do this often in my layouts, but I did a lot of clustering.  I clustered the cool chipboard embellishments near the bottom.  I clustered the girl photos.  And I clustered my male cousin and the title.  But all three distinct clusters.

I really love those felt bows that I added to the layout.  :)

Here are some close up's:

And I thought I'd share a tip with you.  Sometimes on the back of my layouts, I will add a label sticker with the names of each person, left to right, on it.  That way I don't have to include it on the front of the page, but the information is still there for others who may want to know in the future.  Really it depends on the page.  But I did do that on this one.

Well thanks for stopping in today!  I hope you have a fabulous day!!

TCR + TSC :)

Hello friends!  The ScrapCake is sponsoring The Color Room this month, and the TSC designers are playing along too.  :)  Here's the latest color palette:

And here's my layout I created for it:

I actually used bits of several different collections from the ScrapCake, including The Bright Side of Life, Spring Awakening, One Moment in Time and My Private Happiness.

I also used the chipboard people from Magistical Memories, the awesome well from Prima, and the chipboard saying from Fancy Pants Designs.

I winged a tree of stitching, and added a couple charms to the tree.  The one blessed charm was one someone else made when we had a charm exchange forever ago when I was designing for Rusty Pickle (miss those girls!).

And here are the close up's:

Those pink flowers in between the chipboard people are from Creative Charms.

Thanks for stopping in today!!
Have a fantastic day!

Leftovers

Hi everyone!  Hope you had a nice day yesterday.

Today I am sharing a layout that I made using the PB&J collection from BasicGrey.

I used lots of leftover strips on my layout.

Here are some close up's:

And thought I'd share a quick tip with you.  :)

You can save leftover chipboard negatives and use them as a stencil.  I dabbed blue paint through the spots left (although I did get a little sloppy with mine).

Just another idea...another way to use your leftovers.

Well thank you so much for stopping in today!
I hope you have a FANTASTIC day!!!

Photo Banners and Pictures

I often feel like I'm pretty much caught up with my photos and scrapbooking, but occassionally I will find a folder of pictures that I totally forgot about that.  That was the case with these pictures on my layout today.  Last year for Austin's birthday, we went miniature golfing.  I took a bunch of pictures, and even though none of them really turned out super, I wanted to use a bunch of them.  So the layout I am sharing today has 9 photos on it.  :)

I did it for the Chevron challenge on the BasicGrey blog.  I simply created my own chevron design with paper and stiching, but I also used a cool chevron border sticker from BG.

All the papers and embellishments are from the What's Up? collection from Basic Grey.

Here's my layout:

I did something different, and when I printed my photos, I just cut them in strips and cut a banner edge on one side.

I still really LOVE this collection...it is just so FUN!  :)

Here are some close up's:

Well we just got back from a trip to meet my new niece! She is beautiful. I thought I'd share some photos from our trip too. :)

We stopped at a few fun sites along the way and really made it a road trip.

At Golden Spike:

At Shoshone Falls:

At Malad Gorge:

And then meeting their new cousin:

It was a pretty good trip!

Thanks for stopping in today!!! I so appreciate you...YOU make me feel like I am not talking to myself. :)

Have a wonderful day!

Field Day Fun

First off, thank you to everyone for the comments and the personal emails.  It has meant a lot.  :)  I don't want to skip over that.  Thank you!

Well, the end of the school year always marks Field Day for the boys.  This year was slightly different because they each had their Field Day on different days, in the past it has been on the same day.

The boys couldn't be more different.

Austin is competitive.  He wants to win.  And he wants others to follow the rules.
Hayden is a complete goofball.  He just wants to have fun.  I swear, he was falling on purpose at times just to get a laugh!

And of course, they each wanted their own layout done, with nothing about the other one on it.

Is this just a boy thing?  Sometimes I think they can't stand each other.

Anyways...here's Austin's Field Day layout:

I just love that top picture, where Austin is mid-air in front of everyone else in the potato sack race.  :)

I used the very cool Wave Searcher collection from Fancy Pants.

Here are the close up's:

I love those tiki dudes...not that they have anything to do with Field Day, but they are something DIFFERENT than the usual stuff I add to my pages.

Those lines and swirl are a transparency from the line that I used behind my photos.  I thought it worked well like that.

And then here is Hayden's layout:

This layout uses the fun Summer Soul collection from Fancy Pants.   Those white pieces are actually cut from this chipboard sheet:

I had two of these sheets of chipboard.  I thought about making a design using the surf boards, but I had already used some of them, so I didn't have as many as I wanted.  So instead, I took my scissors and cut around the empty spots and just used the outline.

Here are some close up's of my layout:

And speaking of Fancy Pants...did you see the sneaks of their newest releases:

I've already created some with these. I will share soon.  :)

Well thanks so much for stopping by the blog today!!!

I hope you have a fantastic day!
