I am a sister! :)

I was picked to be "sister of the week" over at Sisterhood of Scrap!  Thanks Sisterhood!  Go check it out.  And for the challenge this week, we were supposed to use a color that we rarely use and make it a main color.  I choose yellow...don't know why, I have just never been a yellow person.  But these papers are so gorgeous that it didn't make this challenge too hard.  :)  (Papers are Black Market Paper Society).  Here's what I did:

The picture is of my parents in about 1980.  It's so funny seeing old pictures of your parents, it's just never quite what you expect.  :)

CPS 70

I made some cards tonight.  For all three of them I started with this week's sketch from CPS.  Here are pics of each one (I think they all turned out very different even though they all started with the same sketch):

Challenge #2

So...since it is obvious that I am not going to win the first challenge of the Ultimate Scrapbook Challenge by Scrapbooks, etc...I went ahead and worked on the second challenge tonight.  (Although it does look like I have locked in 3rd place on the first challenge).  The second challenge was to do cool journaling or doodling.  Here is what I did:

I made the journaling part of the design...the roof to a house, the top of a tree. I also made some words bolder than others.   Here's to hoping that I have to again ask you to vote.  :)  They announce the ten finalists for this challenge on Wednesday the 25th.
Paper from Scrapworks and Cosmo Cricket. Cardstock from Coredinations. Paint from Making Memories and Scribbles. Chipboard from Maya Road. Other: Hambly overlay (clouds), lace from Prima and embroidery floss from DMC.

All supplies on this card are from Stampin' Up!

A favorite

Here's one of my favorite layouts...I don't think I ever posted it on here...it is one I did last summer.  I was looking through my Cosmo Cricket stash, and saw all those fun papers with the painted look.  I used those a lot...little pieces here and there.  Anyways, it made me think of this layout and smile...so I thought I would post it here.  :)

ScrapLovers Reveals #2

Ok, here is the rest of my reveals for ScrapLovers.  I loved working with Cosmo Cricket's "Honey Pie" line...fun stuff.  :)

Ultimate Summer Challenge

Have you seen the "Ultimate Summer Challenge" that Scrapbooks, etc is having? We’ll I am gonna try for it. The grand prize winner gets $2500! The first challenge was to raid the sticker stash and use them in a new and creative way...anyways, my LO was picked as one of the ten finalists.

So check it out
here, and if you like it then please vote for me! (You can vote once a day and it is open until June 25th).

There are no names on the images there.  This is my page:

What I did was randomly place letter stickers all over a sheet of cardstock.  (This is great for leftover letter stickers).  Then I painted over the whole thing for a subtle but fun background.  :)

Inspired by Patterned Paper

So, as you can probably tell from my posts lately, but I have been surfing the scrapbooking online community lately...just for fun...seeing what's out there.  I came across a site called AMM (A Million Memories)...they are having a very cool Creative Imaginations contest right now.  I was also inspired by a challenge that was issued on there. The challenge was to be inspired by a piece of patterned paper (not to use the paper but to make you LO based on the design of the pp).  You can check it out here to see what others did.  Anyways, here is what I did.

This was the paper I was inspired by [Dream Street Papers]:

My Vacation :)

So I realize that I haven't really said much about our vacation.  So, let me do that...but just so you know, this post has A LOT of pictures!!!  :)  The trip was fun, but it was really busy.  We went with my parents and my sister and her boyfriend. So...first stop, Grand Canyon.

It was awesome! We took a ton of pictures, even more than at Disneyland.  We hiked some and drove around the whole thing. My DH kept freaking me out by taking the boys to spots for pictures off the path...all I could picture was them slipping and falling! He even went a couple places by himself and people would stop and look and say "that man is crazy." LOL. He is.

Next, we went to our relatives in CA. It was nice catching up with them, it had been awhile since we had seen them.

Then came Disneyland. The boys were a bit overwhelmed. They started off a little afraid of the rides but soon opened up to them all. They were more interested in "meeting" their "friends" (the characters). We did go back to the hotel during the afternoon to take naps so my boys could stay up late. But even so we ended up carrying my littlest one a lot! I am really surprised at how few pictures I took there...I don't know why...I guess I was just too busy having fun.  :)

The next day was Sea World. And it wasn't the best day for it. It was cold and rainy all day! But amazingly enough, I still really enjoyed it! The boys would have rather done rides but they kinda forgot about that after we started doing the shows. We saw the dolphin show, Shamu show, and this circus type show...all were cool.

The next day we went to California Adventure. Now, all we had heard we bad things about it so we really weren't sure what to expect...but we really liked it! They have some great shows (LOVED their Aladdin show...the genie especially was hilarious) and a lot of stuff that the boys really liked, like a Playhouse Disney show. Plus it wasn't busy at all so we really had no lines that we had to wait in.

Then came our second day at Disneyland. Austin had talked all week about wanting to meet mickey and get his picture taken with him. So we made sure to do that, went and stood in line, and then Austin got upset with something while waiting and when or turn came to meet mickey...he didn't want to! I couldn't believe it. This was our really long day. The boys did get naps, but we stayed up really late, until closing at midnight! We caught the second showing of Fantasmic and got front row sides by the water's edge. It was awesome and the boys really enjoyed it! But there was a lot of carrying the boys around...my arms were so tired.

And Austin...NOT wanting to meet Mickey:

It was really such a great trip!!! A lot of driving, but it was worth it.
