Birthday RAK

So, as some of you have mentioned...it's my birthday today.  :)  Thanks for the Happy Birthday wishes.  I thought what better day to give away a RAK...something that is a favorite of mine...so here is what I am giving away:

If you have read my blog long or seen my work, then you know that I love adding 3D paint to my pages or projects.  The lucky winner of this RAK will get 12 different colors of 3D paint from Scribbles.

All you have to do is post about this RAK online somewhere (your blog, a group, etc) then leave me a comment with a link to where you posted.  I will draw a name on Thursday, Oct. 2nd.  Good luck...maybe I will spread my obsession with 3D paint on to someone else.  :)

Another Card

Here is another idea for what I blogged about yesterday.  Here's a card I made and I included stitching on it:
It was fun, because I got out my stamps from Upsy Daisy Designs...it's been a while since I made a card that was mostly stamping.

Instead of just covering up the stitching on the inside...I thought I would make a design around it.  Since I tape down my ends of the thread when I stitch, I needed to cover that part up.  Here's what I did:

What other ideas do you have for what to do with the inside of a card when you have stitched through it?

Stitching on Cards

I recently was asked a question about my stitching on cards.  I was asked how I did the inside of the card so the stitching didn't mess up the middle.  Well, often I will try to hide the stitching under a layer on a card, but if I do it on the main card, then I add a lining on the inside.  Here is a card I just finished:

Since I added stitching to the main portion of my card, I decided to add a lining on the inside.  I cut a piece of paper that was slightly smaller than the card.

Then I just adhered it to the card on the inside.  It makes for a sturdier card too when using patterned paper.

Since I used a busy piece of patterned paper, I added a little to the inside of the card to make a place to write my message.

It's not hard, and since I love adding stitching to my cards, it is worth it to me to do this extra step at the end.  :)

THANK YOU!!!

Thanks to everyone who voted for me.  And, I have been so bad lately at checking out other's blogs...I didn't even realize that some of you had posted on your own blog for people to vote for me!  That was so sweet...thank you!  I didn't win...but I have an album I am happy with and I will expand it too, so when I do new pages I will share them with you.  I've been kinda down this week...I was so excited for the final challenge and then I was just discouraged.  But I am happy with who did win, it was a very creative album.

Now I got to get back to scrapping so I have some new stuff to post!  :)

Life goes on

So, it is clear that I am not going to be winning the Ultimate Summer Challenge.  They are having voting issues...or at least I am.  Two days I wasn't able to vote for myself, it would tell me that I already voted.  I have also received messages from people telling me that it is still not working for them.  I'm sorry, don't know what else to do.  But thank you so much for voting (or trying)...you guys are awesome!  :)

So I haven't been posting because I wanted the Ultimate Summer Challenge stuff to be what people saw when they came to the blog.  (If you don't know what I am talking about, then scroll down).  But I figure it is about time for me to get some new stuff up.

So here is what I did with the September kit from Coconut ScrapShop.

Under this one, I tucked an email that I had printed off under the photo:

Since I was fresh off making a couple mini albums, I just didn't have it in me to make another.  So the cute mini album that came in the kit, got taken apart by me.  I put one page on the LO above, and then I put two together with a brad to make a card:

And here is something you won't want to miss...

Ultimate Summer Challenge: FINAL CHALLENGE!

Yeah!  The time has finally come for the Final Challenge for BHG Scrapbooks, Etc's "Ultimate Summer Challenge."  My album is up, and the voting has started!  :)  The assignment was to make an 8 page mini album about myself.    I approached this challenge by not thinking of what others would want to see, but by doing what I wanted and making it personal to me...after all, it is a book of me. :) So I am pleased with the way it turned out. It is an 8 x 8 acrylic album with two smaller pages thrown in to mix it up a bit. I like doing this (adding smaller pages in a book) because it makes it easily expandable...I don't have to have more of the acrylic pages to keep adding to the book.

There are lots of pictures to come.  :)  Click on any of them to make them even bigger.  First I will show you the pages by themselves, and then you will see them in the book.

This one has a spelling error in it.  I did fix it, I just didn't take a new picture.  :)

So there are the 8 pages.  Here's what it looks like all together:

I hope you like it as much as I do.  I am a little worried about this.  Usually I think a lot about what I am going to do and then spend a lot of time on it, making sure it is perfect.  This book came together SO fast for me.  I just threw elements on a page and moved to the next one.  :)  That worries me a little.

So, if you like the album, PLEASE GO VOTE FOR ME!  I need the votes, the prize is $2500!  You can find the voting here.   And pass the word along!  :)  At least, let's get people on there voting for what they like best.  VOTING CAN BE DONE DAILY UNTIL SEPTEMBER 20TH.  So come back and vote again tomorrow.

And thanks to everyone who previously voted for me and who is voting for me now.  You rock!  :)

Pink Paislee Papers

How awesome are the new Pink Paislee papers...you just can't go wrong with them.  ScrapLovers included lots of fun stuff in our DT kit this month....among the stuff was the "Vintage Moon" collection from Pink Paislee and these fun black labels from Luxe Designs.

I also got that cool Vintage sequin ribbon, it is from Maya Road.  So this is my second ScrapLovers reveal.

And coming tomorrow....my Final Challenge project!  :)
