Christmas Canvas

So I finished up with the fourth challenge over at AMM for the "Flippin' Out for the Holidays Contest." The challenge was to create a home decor item that was holiday oriented.

I started with an 11 x 14 Canvas and painted it. You can't tell on the pictures but after I painted it I painted a layer of glitter. :) Then I decided to make a scene with patterned paper. I tore the hills and traced a Maya Road house onto paper and cut it out. I layered tiny pics behind the windows so it looks like my boys are looking out. I also put some paper and lace behind the top portion of the window to look like curtains. I layered borders on the roof and the chimney is KI Memories lace cardstock layered (it was blue, I used the backside). Then I used my Slice to make some snowflakes, and I stitched a line from the top to each snowflake. The dark green trees are a stamp that I stamped and embossed and then cut out. The whole thing is titled after one of my favorite Christmas songs (It's the Most Wonderful Time of the Year). I added various embellishments (including that cute bird charm on the roof) and then finished by making a border of lace around the whole thing.
Here are some pics (remember, you can click on them to see them larger):

I had fun with my new papers from Pink Paislee. I have decided that the Tinsel Town line is my favorite Christmas line this year. (I did use a couple other papers from other Pink Paislee lines too).
