Day 4

My day 4 layout went surprisingly quick. I had a lot of fun with it too. It was a bit more personal then my usual pages, openly admitting to being anti-social...but I really love the way it turned out, and it feels like a little piece of me. I had the idea of what I wanted to do and I was going to do it with no pictures, but then I thought--hey...just go outside a take a pic of the house...and that is what I did. I also originally really wanted to use these chipboard letters with glitter on them:
But they were way too big for my page and title. So I attempted to make my own:


That was fun too. :)

I need a new "Alias"

When I was watching "Alias" my husband would make fun of me because afterwards...I always wanted to go scrapbook! Why, you ask. I know it sounds odd. But at the end of the show, the title comes back on, and I loved the font--it always made me want to go scrapbook. Now, I am surrounded by inspirational magazines and websites, but I still seem to need that one simple thing that just makes me think--"Oh...I wanna go scrapbook!" For me, it is actually usually something non-scrapbooking related that totally inspires me to scrapbook.

Day 3

Well I made it to day 3...I know...small accomplishment. If I am happy about this--how in the world am I supposed to make it 31 days? Still not sure that is even possible. :) The real question is...am I still going to get my HOF entry done? I made that one of my goals, and I still REALLY want to try. Hmmm...

Letting Go of Perfection

So, I did page 2 of the LOAD challenge today. It is not my favorite. In fact, I really had to force myself to not start over shortly after I had started. Part of the LOAD challenge is that she wants us to embrace imperfection and not stress over our pages to much. So I am letting go of this one (but hoping tomorrow's will be much better). Here it is:
I like the title. But if I were to start over, I would make the photos and journaling smaller, so everything didn't take up the whole page. It just looks cluttered and busy to me. Oh well...letting go...

A New Year

So much has happened since I last posted. I just kinda forgot about this blog. But now I really want to start using it again. I have been reading "The Message" (modern day version of Bible), I am reading it through as a book--page to page. I have made it all the way through the New Testament except for Revelations. That is where I am at now. Reading this has been SO beneficial to me. God has spoken to me so much. I am kinda hesitant to start Revelations. I know--that sounds crazy. But when I was younger...I just found it so confusing. And there is a part of me that feels like I do not need to know anything about Revelations...I just trust that Christ will return and that I need to be ready. It is not for me to know when that will happen. But I do know that is only half true. I do need to be aware of signs, etc. But even more important--it is part of God's Word! And that is enough of a reason to read it.

How many days can I make it?

So it is the new year. And there are many scrapbookers out there who are attempting to do a page a day for ALL OF JANUARY--31 layouts in 31 days! My own group is attempting 8 pages in 8 days. I will see how long I can last. :) Here's my page for day 1:

I had so much fun with this one. Each star is strategically placed to make a tree, and each star is "decorated" in it's own way (the glitter ones are a little harder to see). I used the front sheet for the Basic Grey paper packs (you know--the one that shows you all of the papers that come in the pack) for the stars and squares. Waste not--right. :) I also outlined everything with a marker and had a little fun playing around with embroidery thread. The folder opens up to reveal journaling. I like this page so much better in real life, the picture just doesn't do it justice.
