My son.

I love him so!

He's been having a difficult time lately. Not sure why. But he's getting in a lot of trouble at school and at home. He gets upset so easily. I think he's having trouble with friends at school too. It's so hard on us parents to see our kids unhappy and acting out. It's sad AND frustrating. I've been feeling the need to completely encourage him and love on him. That spilled over onto a layout I created this weekend.

Here's my layout:

It uses the awesome Off to School collection from Fancy Pants. I seriously can't get enough of this collection. :)

Here are some close up's:

All of those chipboard pieces are from the chipboard banners sheets. I simply stitched a star and filled it with the chipboard shapes. :)

I usually add stitching or ribbon to the top of those banner pieces to make it look more like a real banner, but I kinda like them just floating there too!

Once again, I used the outside portion of the chipboard pieces by cutting out the negative part around the arrow. I used several of the journaling pieces, layered and arranged around my photo to do my journaling. And I love the way that button looks with the chipboard star on top of it. :)

I hope you are having a FANTASTIC day!!! Enjoy it! :)

It's so hard when your little people have a hard time - I hope things get better for him. A great LO, so much to look at the papers are beautiful and I love your stitched star with the pile of embellishments in the middle.

What a sweet layout. My son had similar problems when he was in 2nd grade. He is just such a sweet sensitive boy that I think that's when getting picked on and still feeling the need to be their friend came to head with 'hey I'm tired of this!'. It was a looong year that year and he's now a perfectly well adjusted middle schooler who has definitely come into his own. Growing pains are hard mama, but the road is so worth it :)

Awww so sorry to hear about the trouble you son is experiencing.
Don't you just want to wrap them in your arms and protect them from the uglies of the world.

Your layout is lovely. I like the cluster of chipboard shapes you put in the heart.

Pam, my heart just aches for you! We have two "little" guys (now high schoolers - lol!!) and it was growing pains for us. But a team of caring people (teachers and us parents) to lead him in the right direction. We got through it. I hope the same for you!

Love this page - I think he'll love it too. My favorite is that stitched heart of yours!

Hang in there! xo

It's so hard watching our kids struggle like this. Hugs to you! I love Connie's idea of sharing your page with your son. The star embellishment is very creative!

I'm so sorry he's having such a difficult time. Hope things work out for him, going to school can be hard enough with out peer troubles.

Love the page, and I agree, what a great line!

Oh no! I hope he turns a corner soon - I totally know what you mean about wanting our kids to be happy! We are in the middle of potty training right now and it's, well, slow... I would love to wait, but she's in pre-school and they require that she wears big girl pants... she hates it.. Anywho! I do love your layout! Sending well-wishes your way for your son!

What a fun, fun, FUN layout! That's one of the things I love about scrapbooking, you were having these feelings about your son and were able to turn it into a layout. On a mom note, so hard to stand by and watch those growing pains, isn't it? My oldest is 9 and sometimes it just kills me :)

Wonderful details on your LO. I am hopeful for you that you can help your son discover what is bothering him. I know that feeling as I've got three very troubled children and we've had lots of sessions of digging to find the hurts. So hard to watch them struggle.Hugs
