Rusty Pickle Holiday Hop!!!

Woo Hoo...that's right, it's time for the Rusty Pickle Holiday Hop! If you're just coming to my blog why don't you join us and start at the Rusty Pickle blog. There's a lot of giveaways! Not only that, but there are a lot of FABULOUS projects to inspire you, so join in the fun! If you came from Julie's blog, then you are in the right spot....thanks for hopping with us! :)

**First, I am sure if you are following the blog hop that someone else has already mentioned this, but I'd like to ask for your prayers. Our fellow Rusty Pickle DT member, Rachelle, and her family need our prayers. Rachelle's husband Lyndon was in a serious car accident. Last I heard he was still in critical condition and in a coma. Rachelle's mom is updating us on her blog with any news. So, please, say a quick prayer right now even.

So the other day we all went to the thrift store and I found some amazing finds! All of the thing I got were things I intend to alter. My favorite of my finds was this cool star tray...there was a few of them, and apparently they had been there for a long time. I couldn't imagine why the weren't selling because I seriously thought they were awesome, even as is! I was so excited and I showed my husband what I had found. I got the blank stare and the "oookkkk." :) I said "You don't see all the cool things I could do with this?" And his reply was "Well no, but I look forward to seeing what you do." Gotta love that man. Anyways...so you want to see what I did with it? Here it is:

Here are some close up's:

I just love how it turned out! All the papers and trim are from Rusty Pickle. That picture is one of my favorites...it is NOT of Eryn. It is my oldest son, Austin. I can't look at that picture and not smile.

So I thought I would share with you how I made that flower...it's really easy!

You want 4 or 5 flowers.

Fold the flowers in half.

Stack all your folded flowers, and stitch them all together at through the middle part of the flowers.

Tie a knot. Then you can open then all so it looks like this:

I then sprayed it with glimmer mist. Make sure you have something behind your flower to catch the glimmer mist so it doesn't get on anything else.

Ta da! :)

Ok, and now comes time for the really fun part! The giveaway! :) One lucky winner will win all this:

10 Sheets of double-sided patterned paper (The Snowflakes and Mittens line), 2 full sheets of chipboard (my favorite ones, called the "Photo Mounts" chipboard...full of fun frames and borders), 6 awesome trims (you know I love Rusty Pickle trims!), black alphabet stickers and a fun chipboard mini album!

All you need to do to be entered in to win this is leave me a comment!!! Simple as that. :) I will draw the winner on Monday.

Now HOP ON to my friend Cathleen's blog!!!

And a have a fabulous weekend!!!!

So clever -- your dh should "know you by now" -- you certainly always have a plan for those (what I call "rescues") from the thrift store. My dh and I raised 4 children and spent a good deal of our time in thrift stores -- not just for rescue items but for clothing, etc. You have created a work of art and Austin will adore it forever -- what a precious gift!

Lyneen said...

A gal after my heart... did you say thrift store...

Blank stares from DH... I think I live with his brother!

Love what you did with the tray. Your flower is beautiful, thanks for the detail. I even have some of those in my stash!

Thanks for taking the time during this busy season for the hop! Keeping Rachel and Family in my thoughts and prayers.
