Last day of LOAD

So, I just finished my last layout for the LOAD challenge. Here it is:

I had a bit of a problem getting the picture to show up right...there was a glare on the top left, and the colors were off, so I tried to lighten it which is why it looks like it is missing something in the top left hand corner. Sorry, I really wish the picture would have shown up better, I am actually really pleased with the way this turned out. It is simple but appropriate for my family album. There are flowers stamped behind the pp and photo and a flourish by the flower, you can see them a lot better in real life then you can in this picture. But I guess you can still see what it is like from this pic. I am in love with those Hambly overlays...I know...they have been all the rage, but I didn't own any until recently and I just LOVE them. This page is actually unfinished...I will add journaling to it later. But it is one of those situations where I am working with old pictures (don't know if you can read it, but this one is from 1914) and I am trying to collect information from family members. So once I feel like I have info. to put on there, then I will add journaling on strips of white cardstock...it will be similar to this:

I am actually having a difficult time trying to collect old stories and information about old family members. It is easier to get the pics then the old information. I am so glad that I scrapbook and will be passing along that information...and nobody will have to try to find stories about relatives or find information about their family tree. Course, that is if I can get that stuff now. :)

Going Super Simple

Since all my scrapbooking time and effort lately has been devoted to CK's Hall of Fame contest, I am afraid that my LOAD layout for today has gone super simple. :)

Christmas Cards

I just realized that I never uploaded the Christmas cards I did this year. Me and a friend held a Christmas Card Workshop at my church...she created five cards and I created five cards and each person got to make 10 cards at the workshop. Here are the five cards that I did :

Almost over

Thank goodness LOAD is almost over. :) Here's my page for LOAD day 28...28 days in a row I have completed at least 1 layout (in some cases--more). Wow. I can't believe I am actually going to complete this challenge. Anyways, here's the page:

I am waiting to do the journaling, because I just don't know what I am going to write yet. :) It's of my cousin, and I actually don't know her very well. CK had issued a challenge to do those flowers, where each pedal was a different piece of patterned paper. Everyone was doing them as the focal points, but I have done similar pages before and I thought it would be fun to make them as part of the background instead. :) I like the way it turned out.

Day 27

Here's what I did for day 27 of LOAD.

I still need to add the date and his name (I want to make sure that I spell his last name right). But you can see where I will hand-write it in. Oh and here was my day 26 LOAD page (I forgot to post it yesterday):

Austin loved ice skating so much that he had a perma-grin on his face the entire time. And he did so good too. Both of the boys did better on skates than I did (you won't find any pictures of me on ice skates...it was sad).

Day 24

I am still working on my family album...trying to get at least one page done for each person. This one is my cousin. I just love this picture. She had it posted on her myspace page. And the quote and the interests I also took from her myspace page. :) Easy journaling, and it puts her own personality into the page.

I just had fun with this one...hoping to make it look more "artsy", because that is the kind of girl I think of her to be. Not sure that really came across...but it's ok.

playing with ribbon

So I am a bit of a ribbon freak...I love it and have TONS!!! Today for my LOAD layout I played around a bit. Not my usual style...but hey...here it is:

I am trying to think outside the box. :)
