Scraplift!

Holy cow...it has been forever since I scraplifted a layout that I liked.  But, for a challenge, I decided to do it this week.  The layout I lifted was by De Anna Heidmann and can be found on page 29 of the October 2008 issue of Scrapbooks, Etc.  It is a digital layout, and my lift is a traditional (paper) layout, but just because I am a paper scrapper doesn't mean I can't be inspired by a digital layout.  :)  What I really loved about the original layout was the fun stitching and how it came out from the picture and went to the edges.

Here's my layout:

And here is the original layout in Scrapbooks, Etc:

What am I to do???

So I got sad news that The Coconut ScrapShop is discontinuing their kits and their DT (includes me).  :(  I will miss working with that wonderful team of ladies.  The store itself will remain open, they just will no longer be doing the monthly kits.  I am a bit bummed about this.

And...

My term at ScrapLovers is up.  :(  So I am losing both my design teams.  She did say I could try out again for the DT at ScrapLovers (they will have a call in a couple of days) and I probably will try, but who know if I will make it.  They could be looking for new faces.

Even my term at Scrap Addict is up.  :(

I am totally bummed today.

I don't know what I will do without design teams.  If you run across a DT call that you think I would be perfect for...let me know!  I need something.  :)

Round 3

So today I posted my project for round 3 of "Flippin out for the Holidays Contest" over at AMM.  The assignment was to make a 2 page spread that is mainly red and green.  I don't do many two page layouts anymore.  But for a long time I have wanted to lay out my santa pictures from the past years side by side for a page, so I thought this was the perfect opportunity to do that.  The hardest part was finding all my santa pictures.  :)  Here's what I came up with:

Journaling reads:

What I want to remember:

* Every year the boys open up more with Santa.
* I think they might enjoy the free candy canes as much or more than Santa.
* Austin will say what Hayden should get, but never tells Santa what he wants.

I had fun with it.  Wish me luck!  :)

Taking it easy

It feels like forever since I posted.  I was on such a roll.  I hope everybody had a wonderful Thanksgiving.  Can you believe it is December????

So I spent a little time in the hospital this weekend.  I was having a lot of pain and possible back labor.  So I was told to take it super easy (which I was already supposed to be doing early on in my pregnancy).  The nurse literally said bed rest until I can see my doctor again (probably today).  Well...scrapbooking is taking it easy, right?  :)  The boys spent time with Grandma, and I rested a lot.  Then last night I put on White Christmas (my FAVORITE Christmas movie) and scrapbooked!  I made sure not to walk around or exert myself.  Hubby brought me supplies and I just laid/sat and got a lot accomplished.  :)  These are the pages that I made, all from the November Scarlet Lime kit.

The journaling isn't really as hard to see as it appears in the picture of my layout.  Here is a close up of the journaling:

And this one had pull out journaling in that pocket...journaling from three different perspectives: mine and both of my boys.  :)

And I may have overdone it with the glitter on this one.  :)

I have more work to do today...some cards I have to get done, so hopefully I will continue to feel ok so I can get it all done.  :)  Hope you are all having a terrific day!
