Changes

Hi everyone!!  As you may have noticed, I've had a busy August.  Which means, I haven't been posting as much.  Now that my kids are back in school I am hoping I will get more accomplished that I can post.  I've been working on some stuff I can't post yet.  I have written a book, and done projects for that.  Will it get published?  Well, I am going to try--I'll let you know how it goes.  Plus I have been playing around with product design.  Will anything come of that?  Who knows.  I had one smaller company interested in a collection I designed, but a few things have changed and I am thinking that's not going to happen.  BUT I've been in touch with another company who seems interested but it wouldn't happen for awhile.  So we'll see....  Really, I have no idea.  I have just been craving change lately.  I want to try new things in this industry (and out of it).  I've been dreaming of purchasing a large amount of land and opening a retreat, with a large studio, classrooms, and a gallery.  But as of right now, that is just a dream.  I'm going to try!  I really want it.  But I know it will take a lot of money and a lot of time before it happens.  But see what I mean--change, I'm longing for it.

Well with the end of August does comes some changes for me and my scrapping obligations.  Two of my design teams are ending.  You may have seen that BasicGrey announced a new DT, and my name is not on it.  Totally ok.  Like I've said, I am really wanting some change.

Congrats to the new BasicGrey DT!

And then my term with Skipping Stones Design is also coming to an end.  It's been fun.

Congrats to the new Skipping Stones Design DT!

So that leaves me with two DT's.  And to be honest, one of them may end soon...I am waiting to see how something turns out.  If I get down to one...I don't know what I'll do with myself.  ;)  Right now I have to decide if I would even want to pursue more DT's.  Honestly, only one DT sounds wonderful.  But I also know me.  I thrive off deadlines, so I am not sure I would get much done if I do not have a deadline.  DT's don't really need me, I need them to get things done.  Am I weird?  But I also love the idea of letting NEW people on the DT's, fresh faces.  And let's face it...I am no longer really a fresh face.

So help me think this out.  How do I give myself deadlines and keep them?  Should I post a blog schedule on here and have you guys hold me to it?  Maybe I stop worrying about the blog and don't worry if I don't get much done at all?  What other ideas do you have?  Seriously, I want to hear what you have to say.  :)

In the meantime...

Here's my card for the SSD challenge this week, my last card as DT for SSD:

It is inspired by the retro sketch of the week:

It's retro because it's been used before, we've been bringing back some favorites this month.  I hope you play along with the sketch!  You do NOT have to use Skipping Stones stamps to play along, but you can win some!  ;)  Play along here.

My circle on my card is actually cut out.  The image you see is stamped on the inside of the card.  Here's how my card looks standing up:

And this is the inside:

I used the gorgeous Victorian Summer stamp set from Skipping Stones Design on my card.

Well thanks so much for stopping by today!
Hope you have a wonderful day!  :)

Sounds like you have been doing some fun behind the scenes stuff. Planning out blog posts helps me keep my own deadlines. :) Good luck with everything. Pretty card! Love that you stitched around the window.

Looks like you have some amazing things brewing!!! How exciting!!! I used to have so many DT's that I was on and then I realized... I can't do it all... so what I have now is good for me :) It also gives me a chance to do more challenges and that's one way of having a deadline! :) I loveeeeeeeee your card!! It's beautiful!! LOVING the butterfly!!!!!

Sounds like some really exciting opportunities, ones that might take a little longer to come to fruition, but that might be even more rewarding! This is precious time you have with your little ones....soon enough you'll have lots and lots of time on your hands because they won't want to hang out with you - they'll have their own friends. Enjoy it while you can!

You know, I have a lot of DT's going right now and I'm driven by the deadlines, too! I've thought about how I would do it without them and I think I'd look into doing a lot of challenges just to keep myself creating as much as possible! I love doing it, so I would find a way to give myself deadlines! LOL! I love your SSD card and I wish you the very best in your new endeavors!

WOW Pamela, sounds like you have some fun stuff up your sleeve. You are an amazing artist, I am sure you are going to find success in your next venture. If that includes posting less of your work though, I will miss it for sure. You will be in your prayers as you work this all out. Gorgeous cards btw!

I've created my own deadlines and goals with my monthly kits and blogging, but I've started thinking about persuing possible DT opportunities. Not sure I'd be accepted though, lol
