You Know You're a Scrapbooker When...

So it's the day AFTER V-day, and I still have a sick child on the couch. He still does not have his valentines or candy from the classmates. Hopefully he will be able to go to school tomorrow and then he'll get them.

Well today I am sharing a layout with you. It uses the store kit (exclusive to stores) from Unity Stamp Company called "Oh Happy Day."

And if you are anything like me, then you start singing as soon as you hear that name. Seriously...EVERY time, I sing. :) Anyways, this set is perfect for birthdays....but that's not what I used it for. ;) To see what the rest of the DT did with this kit, click here.

Here's my layout:

The papers are all from Cosmo Cricket, from their "Pixie-Licious" collection.

SOOOO....my neighbors probably know I am a scrapbooker, but who else would take a picture after their daughter LAID in a puddle of water. ;) Yep. And I tried to turn and get a picture of hubby's face as he saw her: :)

Haha...was going to put that one on the page too, but I couldn't figure out how to do it justice. So maybe I will do a page of just this photo.

Anyways, back to the layout...

Here are some close up's, so you can see all the details.

I used chipboard from Magistical Memories. I used some of the "clouds" pieces, and one of the "Art Deco Stems" pieces. I covered them with paint and before the paint could dry I sprinkled a little bit of glitter on it. The green got only a tiny bit of glitter while I put more on the clouds.

And you probably already know this about me, but I don't do flat very well. I like texture and dimension on my stuff. I tried something new this time. I created borders with paper that come together on one end and make a loop (tried to not make a crease) on the other end. Then I sewed it to my page with my sewing machine on the top, so the bottom pops out.

I'm sure it will flatten over time, but I really liked the way this turned out. I was going to do it with fabric, but then thought, hey...why not just do it with paper.

I did use adhesive from Helmar to put the whole thing together, using just the Quick Fix Adhesive Runner.

And there you have it...my layout and all the details of it.

Hope you have a fantastic day!!!

Cosmo Cricket's Challenge

Hi everyone...I know, I know, I already posted today! :) Well I am posting again...I wanted to get this up. Cosmo Cricket is having a challenge on their blog. The challenge is to use this:

and let it inspire you.

Here is the layout I made:

I used papers from Cosmo Cricket's "Garden Variety" line...which of course were perfect for my picture and topic. :) I adhered everything to the layout with Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive...except my chipboard vegetables. I was able to layer those with the help of Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots. And that stamp set if called "Frame this Alpha" and is from Unity. :)

Here are some close up's:

Hope you are having a wonderful day!

I combined my challenge with The Color Room's challenge this week. Here's their palette #22:

And here's that layout I made for both challenges:

I figure it's one of those things I need to document, so I can look back and wonder how was I ever able to mow the lawn and watch the kids at the same time? :) Yep...I sit them on the porch.

Those stamps are from Unity Stamp Company, and the set is called "Insightful Meadows". Here are some close up's:

Hope you play along with the challenge at Scrap and Stamp! :) See what others did for the challenge here.

Helmar and Cosmo Cricket

I gotta tell you...I was thrilled when I discovered that my Helmar box of goodies included the Joy Ride collection from Cosmo Cricket! So today I get to share a layout that I made using both of these awesome manufacturers.

I seriously LOVE this line. :) I just used Helmar Premium Craft Glue to adhere everything. I'll let you in on a secret about that....this glue lasts forever. It's all I have left of my Helmar glue because I used everything else! :)

Here are some close up's:

Today the weather here is a bit gloomy which seems to have brightened my mood. :) I know...I'm weird. We went on a nice walk without the sun shining in our eyes and with the cool breeze...so nice! I hope it rains too. I love the rain. Well I'm off to have a GOOD day! :)

Hope you have a FABULOUS day yourself!

* Scroll down for my Scrap and Stamp Saturday post.
** Giveaways still open here and here.

Well we have reached day 3 of our 4 day Back to School blog hop. I hope you are enjoying it so far. :) Today I have a layout to share with you. Before sending your kids off to school with their supplies...take a picture of the supplies! I only got a picture of Hayden's supplies (he's off to kindergarten!). I forgot to take a pic before my other son took supplies to school this week. I wish I had because Austin had a lot more supplies and it would have been a huge picture. Oh well. Here's the layout I made with my school supplies picture:

It uses papers from Cosmo Cricket. :) I believe they all come from the "The Boyfriend" line. Here are some close up's of my layout:

And now for the RAK. Today's RAK is a collection of goodies: a fabulous album from Punky Sprouts, Some Glimmer Screens and Glimmer Mist from Tattered Angels, some flowers from Prima, and some die cuts from BasicGrey:
