Here's what I created for today's hop:

I love to use my stickers as masks.  I often do this with paint or spray ink or even a sponge in ink.  But this time I put my ink pad directly on top of my stickers.  Gives it more of a dramatic, messy graphic look.  This is what I am talking about:

I laid out my stickers:

Then I applied my ink directly from pad to paper:

Then I removed the stickers.

Did you see how I stitched circles around the numbers for the year?  I thought that was fun.  :)

A Gift for a Teacher

Hi all! Thanks for stopping in today. I just got to tell you....I have been a scrapping fool lately and I have projects piling up to share with you! It's like I've fallen completely in love with this hobby again! Anyways...today I am sharing a gift I made for my son's teacher. It's something to hang on the wall...

I thought it turned out pretty cute. The owl comes from Say It With Letters, and I altered it with papers from Fancy Pants Designs, from their Off to School collection. :)

And then here is a quick card to go with it, using the same collection:

Fifteen!

Today I am sharing a layout with you that I made for the Fancy Pants blog last month. It was for a post about rub-ons. And I used FIFTEEN rub-ons on my layout! :)

I used the AWESOME Off to School collection from Fancy Pants for this layout. I just LOVE this collection!

I created a grid of patterned paper and rub-ons. I also added some rub-ons on the photos. Here are some close up's of my layout:

My son.

I love him so!

He's been having a difficult time lately. Not sure why. But he's getting in a lot of trouble at school and at home. He gets upset so easily. I think he's having trouble with friends at school too. It's so hard on us parents to see our kids unhappy and acting out. It's sad AND frustrating. I've been feeling the need to completely encourage him and love on him. That spilled over onto a layout I created this weekend.

Here's my layout:

It uses the awesome Off to School collection from Fancy Pants. I seriously can't get enough of this collection. :)

All of those chipboard pieces are from the chipboard banners sheets. I simply stitched a star and filled it with the chipboard shapes. :)

I usually add stitching or ribbon to the top of those banner pieces to make it look more like a real banner, but I kinda like them just floating there too!

Once again, I used the outside portion of the chipboard pieces by cutting out the negative part around the arrow. I used several of the journaling pieces, layered and arranged around my photo to do my journaling. And I love the way that button looks with the chipboard star on top of it. :)

Back to School

It's that time.

As I was looking at the pictures I took of my boys on their first day of school, I was struck by how they seemed to look the same as last year (uniforms don't help), but there was one thing different. Austin was grumpy. He didn't want to go to school. He apparently doesn't like school anymore. But I told him I was still going to use the pictures I took. And I did.

Here's a back to school layout for this year...

Please ignore that shadow! I had a hard time taking a picture of my layout, see those pencils are on a transparency that I built my layout on, so there is a reflection. Sorry about that.

The wonderful papers and embellishments are all from the "Off To School" collection from Fancy Pants Designs. I do believe it is the BEST school collection ever! :)

Like I mentioned, that piece with the pencils is a transparency. I rotated it so they were on the side. I built my layout on the transparency without the bottom sheet (gray ruler/grid patterned paper) attached so that I could turn the transparency over and add adhesive under my papers and embellishments that were on top so you can's see any adhesive through the transparency to adhere to the gray piece of patterned paper. It also helped to adhere the transparency by adding the stitching.

And one other funny thing to share with you. Last night I was teasing Austin about his grumpy pictures and telling him I was going to scrap them, and he left me a message....

Off To School

It's one of the newest releases from Fancy Pants and I am one of the lucky gals that already got to play with it! :)

I love love love this collection! Here's what I did with it:

I was immediately drawn to several of the papers...like I could see myself using them over and over again! :) And this paper that I used for the background is one of those papers. Isn't it fantastic? That paper with the small alphabets on it (that I cut into squares and put on my large red banner shaped paper) is probably my second favorite. And did you see those shoes? I LOVE the shoes!

I just LOVE that number border that comes with the Glitter Cuts. I added it to my page so it overlaps the photo. Then instead of using the round banners as a banner, I created a scalloped border to go right under that awesome numbers Glitter Cut.

Here are some close up's of layout number 2:

That rub on was just perfect for this page! It reads "A is for...B is for...C is for..." and then I just filled in the blanks.

And then I have another layout to share as well...

I used some ink and dabbed it around a filter. Then I added the filter, slightly off from he outline of the border I just created using ink and then added some red stitching around it all. It gives a little bit of an artsy feel to my school layout. Man I just love this line!

And then I also have a couple of cards to share with you as well....

This card was super easy and fast. I cut a few pieces of paper to create some rows and then added some chipboard embellishments and one star Glitter Cut on the bottom right corner of the card.

This one's another fast and easy card. Using the chipboard banners, I created a pattern on the bottom of the card. Then I added a strip of paper and a chipboard apple (LOVE those apples!). Then the "Thanks" was cut from the Learning piece of paper.

Well, does it sound like I am sing Fancy Pant's praise. Yep, I am. And this is just one of their fabulous new collections...I can't wait to share my favorite one with you. ;)

The Big Book: Day 3

We are on day 3 of me sharing my layouts with you that made it into Memory Maker's "The Big Book of Scrapbook Pages". Today we head back to school. :)

And apparently I only felt the need to take one close up (way back when) and I'm too lazy to pull the layout out of the box and take some more photos (I know...life is rough), so here is your close up:

I loved that little elephant and monkey so I made sure I cut them out and didn't cover them, and then just tucked everything behind them. :)
