Sketch 242 :)

Hi all!  I have no idea where this month has gone.  I was thinking it was the beginning of the month...but it is already the 10th!  I just can't believe that.  Here I am moping around because time doesn't go fast enough (I am anxiously awaiting something that is happening in late Spring/early Summer 2014) and I am too busy moping to see how fast time is going by.

Well how about another sketch?

I actually made it for Ruby Rock-It and you can find it and also play along with it for them here.  But I've added the other versions of the sketch and I am posting it for the challenge here too.  :)

If you are new to my sketches, here's how it works:

I essentially create three versions of one sketch each time. There will be one 12x12 scrapbook sketch, one double page sketch (12x24), and one card sketch (A4). This makes it easier for all types of crafters to participate. :)

Of course, there will be prizes.

Here it is:

Sketch 242a - 12x12 layout

Sketch 242b - 2 page layout

Sketch 242c - Card (A4)
And now for the prize up for grabs...

I will be back soon with this!  ;)

This contains:

Playing Catch Up

Got a bunch to share with you guys.

I guess I will start with a couple of pages in my art journal that I shared on the Ruby Rock-It blog.  Art journaling has no rules, and it is really just time to play and get a little messy.  I really enjoy it.  :)  And I like to use bits and pieces of collections in my art journal.
So here's my first page:
I used parts of the At Last collection on this page.  I just love that bike...isn't it so cute?  The background is just white gesso, and I used a lid from some embossing powder to make the circles.  I added strips of color as if they were coming off the bike.
Here are some close up's:

And then I also did another page in my art journal.  This time I used pieces from the borders and project cards from their new wedding collections.

I'm not as happy with this one...but it's a lot easier to just move on to the next page with my art journal...I'm like "ok, that's done, what's next?"  I don't know why.  :)

Here are some close up's:

And then I also have some cards to share with you guys that I also shared on the Ruby Rock-It blog.  We swapped with Scrap FX last month and I got to play with some of their fantastic chipboard pieces.  :)

Here's my cards:

I just love the colors in the At Last collection from Ruby Rock-It.  It has certainly become my go-to with the new collections.  :)  On my first card, I cut my one chipboard piece in the middle to make it stretch so I could use it on both sides of my focal point. And the second one is pretty simple.  It could be used for a wedding, but it could also be used for graduations, promotions or a variety of achievements.

And then finally, I also wanted to post a sneak of a layout that I had posted on the Fancy Pants blog.

You can view that layout, as well as find out what I have to say about using buttons, here.

Speaking of Fancy Pants...did you know that they are doing a cool blog hop with Tombow this week.  Every day on their blog they will be posting two projects (twice a day).  I have a card and a layout that will go up tomorrow that I am very excited about (had a lot of fun creating these)...I'll share sneaks soon.  Or just check it out yourself.  :)

Ok, well thanks for stopping by this slacker's blog.  Some day I'll get back to blogging regularly (but doubtful that it will be soon...I'm just busy).

Have a wonderful day!!!!

So today I am just sharing a quick card I made.  I don't know about you, but the cards I love receiving the most are the ones that are totally out of the blue...non-birthday, non-anniversary, non-get well, just because cards.  :)  Maybe you have someone that would appreciate a card for no reason.  Maybe even make an unexpected card for your husband, like this one:

For this card, I used bits and pieces from Ruby Rock-It's Cook collection, Embossed Cardstock (Mother Nature) from Ruby Rock-It,  a flower brad and a couple pearls from Ruby Rock-It, and then the Gunmetal Shimmer twine from The Twinery.

Ok, your next stop on the hop is Stacy!!!

Ruby Rock-It Blog Hop

Hello to all the faithful Ruby Rock-it Fans!  Welcome to our June blog hop!
If you are a regular reader of my blog or are just popping in, I hope you consider hopping along with us.  You can start the hop here.
This month, we are featuring our very versatile Fundamentals cardmaking supplies, gorgeous vellum, and our bling!  And after you hop along, make sure you find out the details on how you can have a chance to win this amazing PRIZE pack!
Come and hop along with us, leaving comments at each blog to enter to win an awesome Ruby Rock-it prize pack!  You could win your very own collection of Ruby goodies!
I am actually the last stop on the hop before returning to the Ruby Rock-It blog.
So I made two very simple, easy wedding cards to share with you.  First up:

This card literally took me 5 minutes to make.  It was so easy.  I laid vellum on the card, then I layered and placed my focal piece on my card (came from this cardmaking kit) and added the lace and congratulations.  My final step was adding just a bit of hand-stitching.
Then there's this card:
Isn't that blinged out flower fabulous?  I liked the way it looked in the package so I just adhered the bling to the cardboard backing and cut it out.
I also used some other packaging on my card...did you notice it?  I had received something that was wrapped in that thin styrofoam like packaging (don't know what it is actually called).  Well I used it on my card.  All about recycling.  :)  I really love the way it looks.
Ok, well now it's time to hop back to the Ruby Rock-It blog.
In case you missed any along the way, here's the entire hop order:
*  RRBF Blog (start here)

Always Have To Steal My Hugs

Hi all!  I can't believe June is almost here!  This year has flown by, but especially May has flown by.  Where did it go?  No seriously...where did May go?

Well we just got back from a trip to middle of nowhere, Nebraska.
And I'm glad to be back.  :)

But it won't be long before we are off again.  We just have a really busy summer planned.  What about you guys?  You going on any trips this summer?

So anyways...you want to see a new layout?

This layout uses the super cool Swagger collection from Fancy Pants Designs.  I had a lot of fun with it.

Notes about this layout:

*  I loved the cool design on my background sheet of paper and I enhanced it by adding stitching around some of.  Makes the design pop a lot more.
*  Another piece of paper I love was the cool Chevron piece, with some creative cutting and layering you can really change up the look.  :)
*  Sometimes I add mod podge or glossy accents on top of small letter stickers so I don't end up losing any of the letters...just helps them stay on.
*  Funky rub-on hats are the best.  :)

Here are some close up's of my layout:

And then I also made a card using some of the pieces left from the chevron design that I had cut up.

Well thanks for stopping in today!!!

Have a fantastic day!!

Fancy Some Fancy Pants?

Well...we had a few days of sun, which was nice, now it is supposed to snow again tomorrow.  And I am so over it.  I am desperately seeking Spring!  I want to plant my garden!  I'm afraid we are going to skip Spring and head right into Summer.  Oh well.

So I have a few projects to share with you that use the fun Down By The Shore collection from Fancy Pants Designs.  First up, a layout:

Things to note about this layout:

*  I used pieces from the wave pattern stencil and laid them on my paper at the bottom to essentially create a mask.  I then sprayed some blue ink around them.
*  I love adding rub-on's directly to my photos, here that large flower on the bottom right of my photo is a rub-on.  The swirls at the top left of the layout as well as the words above the waves are also rub-ons.
*  Go big!  Thinking of adding stitching to your project?  Well why not do some large stitches for a fun, funky look.
*  The journaling and the itinerary for our cruise are tucked inside the anchor envelope behind the photo.  You can see the top of one of the pieces poking out.
*  Journaling cards or 4x6 cards are great for blocking out your page.  I started my layout by placing three cards in a row to create my background.  But instead of layering three separate blocks and keeping a blocked look, I layered on top of all of them together.

Here are the close up's of my layout:

And then I also made three cards using the same collection.  Here are those;

And finally, I have a new sketch for you all.  It's up on the Fancy Pants blog:

And here's a sneak of my layout for this sketch:

You can find the whole post here.

Well I know I shared a bunch today, can you tell it's the end of the month?  ;)  Thanks for stopping in!!!
Have a marvelous day!
