Got home last night and boy do I have a TON of stuff to do. I hate unpacking, and all the laundry that you need to do after trips. But it is good to be back. I do have a question for you at the end of this post so make sure you read it and answer. :) I did manage to sit for about 15 minutes last night and make a card. I used CPS's latest sketch, sketch 115. Here is the card I made for the sketch:
Hope you all have a wonderful Wednesday! My son has field day today so I think we are going to head over and watch some of it. :)
Oh yeah...I am working on a project and I have a question for you....
What really makes you go "WOW!" when you look at a page or a card? It doesn't have to be something you do but something that just blows you away. If you have an example, link us up.

Love your card - it is such a really great use of that CPS sketch! Glad you played along. As for your question, that has kind of been my quest. What stands out? I know I do love a great focus on the photos while still getting to use some great papers and accents.
super cute card!
for me, the wow factor has to do with seeing something used in a really interesting or unique way. Plus, I'm especially drawn to layouts that have some type of symbolism involved -- where the embellishments (including texture, etc) add to the story being told.
Cute card, and I LOVE the banner for your blog! :)
Thanks for your comment, Pam! Your card gorgeous!! As for your question, I think that is hard to answer. Sometimes it's the color or a unique detail (like on your card, the cheery color and the way you threaded the ribbon through the star). Sometimes it's the simplicity of a layout when all others around you go for elaborate projects. And lately, I fall in love with layouts that are very structured - just lines, circles, squares... Anyways, I would love to see your finished project :)
Great card!! Thanks for stopping by and leaving a sweet commetn on my blog!!
Have a great day!

great card! i'd say something with bright vibrant colors usually blows me away! it's all about the colors for me!
hugs,
sarah.
Beautiful card! Simply gorgeous.
Don't know what is the WOW-factor in a specific card..it could be the amount of work one has put in it or it could be the colours of the card..it depends on so many things, sorry can't help out.
Thanks for stopping by and for your kind words!
Hugs, SannaS
Beautiful card Pamela, I love the lace!! And, I like things that add to the meaning of the card, that is one stands out to me! *STAMPIN HUGS* Alex
Well, your cad made me go wow! I think strong title work makes me take a second look!
Beautiful card!
I find a lot of times I am drawn to color and texture.
I love your card, soo cute! I really like a strong color scheme. I also notice that great layouts have strong movement too. It is like the viewer's eye is guided though elements perfectly.
Wow...your card me say wow! Love the bright colors and the embellies...thanks for stopping by my blog!
thanks for stopping by my blog! this is a beautiful card! love the butterfly!
For me the wow factor, is a bright, vibrant not so matchy matchy color combo. I like the title to really stand out, and to be very visible. I think thats so important. I like texture and items not exactly found on the scrapbook shelf like hair barrettes, plastic lolly sticks, frames used in neat ways.
What a beautiful card! :)
I love this! I love that chipboard star in the negative, love that butterfly with it and love your colors!
Oh, and I have 2 boys age 3 1/2 and 5 -no infant tho, but I am kinda right there with ya! Hugs,
I love your card--the colors, lace, and butterfly are perfect!
The first thing that wows me on most cards is color.
