Valentine's Day...

is almost here! Are you ready? Here's a cute card I made for my special someone. ;)

I used the following chipboard pieces from Magistical Memories:

* One of the "Birds" pieces.
* One of the hearts from "Nesting Heart".

I adhered it all together with a Quick Fix Adhesive Runner from Helmar.

On the heart, I simply sprayed some glimmer mist. But on the bird, I played around a little. I added a couple shades of pink paint. Then I tried the Crackle Medium from Helmar on top.

I really like the way it turned out. And I had never done this technique before...well, only the old fashioned way where I emboss it with several layers, put it in the freezer and then crack it. :) But the Crackle Medium from Helmar was SO easy! It comes with two jars, for two steps. You use one for step one, allow it to dry and then cover it with the step two jar. Then allow it to dry overnight. In the morning it just looks like this...no work involved. :) I know I am probably going to get asked where you can buy it...so, I know you can get it here.

Hope you are able to do something special with a special someone this Valentine's Day! Why not make a card for him too? :)

Have a great day!

CHA recap

**Fair warning, this is a long post with a ton of pics**

Ok....first of all, I am so sorry that it has taken me this long to update after getting back from CHA. I have a perfectly good excuse....

I crashed.

Ok, there is more to it then that. The night I flew home, my husband also came home early with the flu. Took care of him and the kids all weekend. And I was already exhausted from the trip, and not really feeling that well myself. Then it seemed like one thing after another just went wrong (like having no internet). But hopefully that is all over with. Internet is working again. I am sharing my photos. And I am dying to hit the craft room tonight. :)

But first...

I didn't post the sketch I created for LAST Monday, since I was gone. So I'm going to share that with you first:

And a two pager for those who prefer those....

Since this is already going to be a very LONG post, I am not posting samples, but you can click here to view a bunch of samples for this sketch.

And then the girls at SC are so awesome! They are covering me for the month of February and coming up with new sketches for the group. This one is sketch 240, created by Natalie:

And again, I am not posting the samples. To see samples for this sketch click here.

Now on to CHA!!!

This CHA was such a different experience for me then the Summer show. While I enjoyed being there, there was some drama. Basically I just butted heads with another individual. I do not need to share the details or the name of the person, because I don't need to put that out there. But I came home feeling discouraged and emotionally exhausted. I questioned whether I would ever even attend again.

But I am glad that I am sharing photos with you, because while I was going through them all I realized that I really did have a lot of fun. And I got to hang out with some great people, and meet a lot of people I know from online.

So here is the booth where I spent most of my time. If you look closely you can see projects I did that have not been shared yet, as well as from others on the DT. And you will also spot a new line that we haven't even shared with you all yet. ;)

There are two more walls that were full of samples, but I didn't get pictures of them.

And here is the My Little Shoebox crew:

(L to R: Erin P, Me, Shelly, Helen, Erin Y, Linda, Nicole, Patti, Debbie)

And what does a scrapbooker do at a trade show....well take lots of pictures of course! :) I was so excited to see some people again and to meet people that I've talked to online!

(Anabelle and Me...Nicole snagged this pic with my camera while we were posing for Anabelle's camera...I love it because we are not looking directly at the camera and that is different then all the rest of my photos!)

(It's the CK gals!)

(Patti and Shelly)

(Oh I LOVE this girl...Me and Nat)

(And I had to snag this one from Angela because I didn't get one with her with my camera!)

Other people I hung out with a lot but somehow didn't get any pictures of (so sad): Shemaine and Nicole (although she is in one group photo).

Several of the girls from MLS got sick during CHA. :( It seemed none of us were really feeling that well. Plus we had issues with samples falling off our new booth. But I think the whole thing, despite a few minor glitches, went rather well.

Ok, well I think that is enough for today. :)

Have a wonderful day!!!!

Update

Our internet is down, all I have is my phone. I will be back with a post as soon as I can! Hopefully we will have a guy out today to try to fix it.

Thanks for your patience! :)

Hip Hop!!!

So, I got back from LA (for CHA) tonight. I got back home with enough time to spend 5 minutes with the kids before they were off to bed. But I really look forward to spending it time with them tomorrow. I promise to post lots of pics and more about CHA, but I was just so exhausted when I got home. I laid in bed, and I was watching the Bachelor :), and I almost forgot all about my Hip Hop post.

That's right...it's Thursday (well technically, right now it is Wednesday, it is supposed to go up at 11pm my time, and it is 11:09 right now!)...which means Hip Hop! You'll want to start the hop at the Unity Blog.

So I thought I would post a layout that I did for CHA. It uses some of the new Itty Bitty stamps from Unity and Bella Blvd.

Stamps used:

I used new papers from Bella Blvd as well for this layout. :) Here are some close up's:

Don't forget, you can win some fabulous prizes today by commenting on the blogs and/or in the Hip Hop thread. Winners will be chosen randomly. Check out the deets on the Unity blog.

So I hope you have been leaving comments on all the blogs in the hop and popping in on the Hip Hop chat thread to say hi. :)

And if you haven't already seen the February Kit of the Month, check it out here. It rocks! I seriously love it!

Now it's time to hop on to the lovely Natalie.

Next Blog

Hope you have a wonderful day!!!!

This first layout uses the new "It's the Little Things" line AND the new filters! LOVE those!

And this layout uses the "It's the Little Things" line too. I really love how this one turned out.

And then here is one that uses the Beach Bum line. :)

Make sure you check out the Fancy Pants blog to see what the rest of the team is doing with the new lines!

Hope you have a wonderful day! I am here in LA, and we are setting up the MLS booth today. I'll try to post pictures tomorrow. ;)
