Hippity Hop!!!!

Today, for Unity's Hip Hop we are sharing ornaments and projects you can do with your kids. You'll want to start the hop at the Unity Blog. If you came from Jennifer then you are in the right place. :)

So here are some ornaments I made:

I used the Embellished Season stamp set. :)

They are so simple to make...here's how:

1. Stamp two of the same image on patterned paper.

2. Cut out around the image. You want to leave at least 1/4". It may look weird but it will look better after you add stitching plus you can trim it later.

3. Now I like to hand stitch...always have, but you can definitely use your sewing machine instead of doing it my way. If you look at my picture, you will see that I DID do ONE with my sewing machine. But for most--I poked holes for my stitching and then took floss and a needle and stitched around my ornament. Leave a tail at the beginning of your stitching if you want to be able to do a bow. Stop when you are about 75% of the way around.

4. You want to fill your ornament with stuffing. I actually just used a kleenex. :)

5. Then finish your stitching. Once I get around, I go backwards and fill the rest of the stitching in.

6. Once you are finished with your stitching you should have two tails. Make a bow. :)

7. Add your lace to hang it by. **My later ones I actually put the lace in between the layers and stitched it in...I much prefer that, but for this one I hadn't done that.

8. If you want to trim your edges so the two pieces match completely, now's your chance. :)

Here's a picture of one where I did the lace on the inside.

AND these are something you can do with your kids too! Hayden sat down with me and made his own:

He even did the sewing machine (with a lot of help). He really seemed to enjoy it and asked if we could make more. His brother was jealous when he got home from school and saw what Hayden got to do so it looks like we may be making more. :)

I do have another stamp set to give away today. :) All you need to do is leave a comment on this blog post and you could win this stamp set:

But if you WANT to become a follower, you can do that too! Just saw I am at 698...SO close to 700. :)

Fancy Pants and Helmar! :)

Yeah!!! I am so excited for today! I get to share some new projects featuring Fancy Pants Design's new "Hot Chocolate" line. I love love love this line! I've had so much fun playing with it. First let me share a layout with you that I made for the Helmar blog. Did you know that Fancy Pants Designs is a preferred partner of Helmar's. How cool is that! But I would have used the two anyways...you know that. :)

So here is my first layout:

This layout is really all about the story! I know it may be hard to read all my journaling so I will tell you about it. I was on a scrapbooking retreat last November in Utah. We were in a cabin in the mountains. We had a few deer that hung out around the cabin and it was just SO funny...being that we were a bunch of scrapbookers, when we saw the deer outside we would all run and grab our cameras. Then there would be like 20 gals out snapping (about 50) pics of the deer. I still laugh just thinking about it. But yes, I was among them (even though I see deer all the time). And yes, these are my pictures (hubby says they look like postcards or stock photos but I really did take them!).

Here are some close up's of my layout:

I used adhesive from Helmar to put the whole thing together. I primarily used the Premium Craft Glue, but I did use some clear Zapdots on those two blue stars. I don't know if you noticed, but that third star (in the middle) is cut from the sticker sheet...the part around the missing star sticker. :)

AND for my next two projects...I am only going to share some sneaks with you because I want you to head over to the Fancy Pants blog to see the full project! :) They are up today! These are my first official projects for FPD and I hope you like them. Here are a couple sneaks:

So seriously...please go to the Fancy Pants Designs blog and check those out, along with some other projects from the DT.

And here are a few things I wanted to pass along to you all! Things you won't want to miss out on. :)

Ain't that the truth!!!

We are showcasing Unity Stamp Company's new store kit today over on the Unity Blog. There are two sets: A Mother's Love and Wishes & Kisses. Or stores can sell them as one kit. I got to play with A Mother's Love....and it is such a beautiful set, I absolutely love it!

Here's the layout I made:

I stamped on the background...the bottom layer. Then I also stamped that beautiful square with spot for journaling or title (I put "Eryn at 19 months" there). And then those butterflies are stamped and cut out. :)

They grow up too fast...isn't that the way it goes? Eryn seriously is growing up faster then the boys did! We went to the doctor this week and the questions he asked just seemed silly. Doctor--"How many words can she say, 5, 10, 20?" Me--"Uh...way more then 20." I was counting afterwards and she can say over 100. Doctor--"Can she walk up the stairs?" Me--"Oh yeah...up and down." Doctor--"She goes down? She doesn't crawl down, she walks?" Me--"Yep". And there are many more examples. I want it to stop. She just isn't my little baby anymore. It's all just happening too fast.

I used some fabulous companies on this layout. Well, Unity of course, then those awesome papers and sticker borders are from Crate Paper. And the chipboard are two pieces put together. They come from Magistical Memories. They are one of the new designs you can findhere. And then I used adhesive from Helmar to put the whole thing together. I used the 450 Quick Dry Adhesive.

Here are some close up's of my layout:

Hope you check out the Unity blog to see what the rest of the design team did with the new store kits. :)
