Just goes to show you...

Hi everyone! So I was lucky enough to get several layouts picked up from Memory Makers for an upcoming book BUT they didn't pick up my personal favorite! It just goes to show you how people can have different tastes. :) And now I can share it with you!

All the papers and flowers are from Prima Marketing. :) Here are some close up's:

The word family is lightly stamped and then I stitched around it. I did this (and similar projects) while in the parking lot waiting to pick up my son from school or while watching tv. Just set your projects aside that you want to add stitching to and pull it out when you are just sitting around. :)

Life

I'm up at 4am because I can't sleep. What's up with that??? And I have been so busy lately, you'd think I would just crash at night and sleep all night long. But no. So I thought I would get a head start on my day...maybe even get my post up on the blog. :)

So I am getting a little frustrated. My son wants to play soccer this summer. I keep thinking I need to get him signed up...don't want to miss the deadlines. But every time I get on they still have the Winter/Spring schedule up. When do you think they actually start registering kids for summer activities? I just don't want to miss it, Austin really wants to try soccer. Sometimes I am not sure that I am the best parent. A lot of parents all around me have their kids enrolled in all sorts of things, sports and other activities. We haven't done that.

We did have Austin do a basketball camp through our church not that long ago. It was his first sports experience (except swim lessons...which is one thing we have done!). Here's a layout I did of Austin's basketball camp.

I thought I would also share some pics from this weekend...

ok...we'll it's taking awhile to load my 200 pics from this weekend :) maybe I will try to go back to be and come back later. Sadly, it won't be 4am when this gets posted. :)

So now it is 9am and I am going to rant a bit....something I don't do too often, but right now I am just angry! I promised my son McDonalds for breakfast today because of something else that happened. So we go to McDonalds, wait in line to order, order, wait in line to get our food and when we got to the window to pay...I gave them my card. Here was what I heard "Oh I'm sorry, our credit card machine is down right now so we can't take cards right now." Well I didn't have any cash on hand! I was and am mad. First of all, why let me order and wait in line...second, what kind of company doesn't have a back-up plan with those old fashioned card swipers in case something like this happens, and third--then offer me another solution! Take a check! Or give me my food for free just because of the trouble. I'm serious, I was angry. Instead I got a fake smile and a "I'm sorry, there is nothing I can do." So we had to drive to another McDonalds...one not so close. So what do I do? Do you think I should file some kind of complaint or something? Would they even care? And why am I so furious about this?

Ok...I'll calm down now.

Scrap and Stamp Saturday

Hello everyone! The challenge at Scrap and Stamp is up. Check it out here. The challenge is to create a layout about sports or an outdoor activity, and of course it needs to use at least one stamp. Here is my layout:

I tried to use that felt and make it look like a giant basketball hoop, but since I had to explain that to hubby I guess it just looks like some fun scallops. :)

Those banner stamp are from Pink Persimmon. This particular stamp set is probably my fav. :)

That cute boy with the basketball is a stamp from Wags'n'Whiskers. The design team was given these to work with this week. Thanks Lacey! :)

Oh and don't forget that Scrap and Stamp is having a design team call right now...would love to see a lot of you go for that!

Well tomorrow is Easter, and frankly I am not ready. I have no idea how this weekend got here this fast. I have a lot to do today! So have an awesome Saturday and Happy Easter weekend!

So today is Friends with Flair at Unity. I don't think I got in in time, but check out the Unity blog because there are a lot of other people posting projects using Unity today. :)

Quick post today...busy busy weekend, with Easter and all. I am in the choir singing in 4 services this weekend. And of course there will be other Easter festivities, like our annual Easter egg hunt with the kids. :) And I got a lot I need to work on before it all begins.

A Layout and Some Announcements

Hi everyone! You didn't think I disappeared, did you? :) Sorry, life just got really busy the past couple of days. I'm sure you know how that is.

For this layout, I took a printed transparency and colored in only a portion of it. I used Sharpies to color it, but there are several things you could use.

Then I used this on my layout, and I outlined the colored portions with 3D paint. :) I like how it turned out. Here's the finished layout:

And Tattered Angels is introducing a new campaign called "Glimmer of Hope". Periodically throughout the year, they will be introducing new (limited) colors. These will be in honor of various illnesses/conditions, and a portion of the proceeds will be given to research organizations for these illnesses. April is Autism Awareness month, and Tattered Angels has created "Piece of Heart"--a beautiful medium turquoise color with gold glimmer. Here it is:

Ok, and one last announcement...today, My Little Shoebox is having a design team call!!!! You won't want to miss out on that! It has been the BEST experience being on the MLS design team! :) Here are the details, which you can also find on their blog:

My Little Shoebox is looking for talented, motivated, responsible designers who have time to commit to design layouts and projects each month with our products and promote our products online and at their local stores. We haven't set a specific number of designers for our team. We welcome international submissions.

We are looking for:

1. Enthusiastic, creative people that love My Little Shoebox and are able to do monthly assignments such as layouts, projects, and cards with our products.

2. You must post your work on 2 different galleries plus the MLS galleries

3. You must be able to commit to a 12 months term, which will be from

July1, 2010 through June 30, 2011.

4. You must be at least 18 years of age.

5. You agree to release the rights of your designs to My Little Shoebox for display on the company website, blog , and in company publications.

6. If needed, your designs may also be needed for display at trade shows.

7. In addition, as a design team member, you will be contributing once per term to our company newsletter and be required quarterly to make a photo or video highlighting a technique for the blog.

8. International submissions welcome.

In return you will receive:

1. A quarterly package with plenty of MLS products to design with.

2. Your picture and bio on the My Little Shoebox website
