Well I choose to do it about my job as a mother.  I made  the page a bit funky and fun.  :)

And here are some close up's:

Music

Music plays such a big part of my life.  I connect with lyrics and notes in a way I can't do with just words.    I may be weird.  :)  Anyways, so we were given the challenge at The ScrapCake to be inspired by music and create a project.  I created a layout and put the lyrics to a song on it that has been on repeat for awhile now on my ipod.

Here's my layout:

The song is called Broken Hallelujah and is sung by Mandisa.  I seriously love it.  The papers all come from The ScrapCake, mostly from the One Moment in Time collection, but there is a little bit of My Private Happiness thrown in there too.  :)

You can also find some stamped images on my layout!  I used the equally fabulous Heartsong and Heartsong 2 stamp sets from Skipping Stones Design.

And then I used my Cameo to cut the girl.  :)

Here are some close up's of my layout:

Do you want to know a secret about this layout?  I made a total mistake!  When I printed the words to the song I didn't proof read well enough at all.  I left out a g.  Out of "sing".  "When all that I can sin."  Yep, that's pretty bad to type sin instead of sing.  :)  And I didn't notice until the whole layout was done.  So I decided to "fix" it adding a g with a pen and then outlining several different words like I meant it to look like that all along.  Not so sure I pulled it off, but at least I am now singing instead of sinning.  ;)

Thank you so much for stopping in today!
I hope you have a FANTASTIC day (and weekend).

From Card to Layout

Awhile ago I posted this card sketch that I created:

Which in turn created this card:

Ever since I made this card I just knew that I wanted to translate the same idea into a layout.  And I finally did.  :)

Here's my layout:

I really LOVE how it turned out.  :)  It uses the FABULOUS My Private Happiness collection from The ScrapCake.  That butterfly comes from Imaginarium Designs.

Here are the close up's:

I just thought that instead of just posting the layout, I would also share where my inspiration came from.    Even though, it was in fact from myself.  :)  Don't you love that, when you can find inspiration from your own work?  I think we all can.

Well thanks so much for stopping by today!!
Have a wonderful day!

Feelin' Lucky :)

Hi everyone!  Thanks for stopping in today!  Well I've been having a bit of fun with my Lucky 8 punches from We R Memory Keepers.  :)  They totally rock!  Today I am sharing a layout that uses the same punch in two different ways.

I used this punch:

to create this layout:

I really love the way it looks when you just punch the holes without the scallops (inner cut)...so unique and fun.  But I did also punch a paper with just the large scalloped circle (outer cut).  I cut the middle out some so it was easier to make the whole thing a little smaller to fit under the punched circles.  Then I folded it to create the fun look on the layout.

All the papers and embellishments come from the fun Baby Mine collection from We R Memory Keepers.

Here are some close up's of my layout:

She is just adorable...my first neice, the kids' first cousin.  I am so incredibly happy for my brother and his wife.  :)

Hope you have a FANTASTIC day!!!!

Using Ribbon

Well, I'm getting up a bit late today.  I have had stuff to post, but I just seem to crash at night, which is when I usually type up blog posts.  But instead of scheduling it for next week, I thought I would just go ahead and post it late this morning...if I don't get many comments...it's ok, I don't need to plan things out in a way where I think more people will see it.  It's things like that I just need to let go of (I have this strange notion that if I don't post early, I might as well not post at all that day and save it for later).  But if most people miss it--it's all good, I'm not going to stress about it.  :)  I think this whole blogging thing can get consuming, especially if you are trying to please readers instead of just posting what you do when you do it.  I have seen many bloggers out there strategizing to get the most viewers and comments....what do you bloggers all think about that?  Do you post things when you think the most people will see them?

Anyways...kind of went off on a tangent there.

Today I wanted to share a layout that I made for the Fancy Pants blog.  We were to focus on using ribbon creatively.  So I used this fun ribbon:

And created this fun layout:

I folded over small pieces and tucked them behind my paper, essentially making two borders of looped ribbon. I also added little pieces of the pink floral ribbon to my layout as design elements.  The layout uses the Summer Soul collection from Fancy Pants.  I really love combining brown with bright colors.  :)

Here are some close up's of my layout:

And in case you missed it, you should check out this post to see what the fabulous Betsy Veldman did with this ribbon.  Well thanks for stopping by today!

Have a wonderful day!!!

Hello Spring

Hi everyone!  Hope your Monday was awesome.  We may be starting to get better here....cross your fingers for us.  I can't wait for us all to be feeling back to normal.  While I am dreaming of summer and all the fun things we can do, I hope to start enjoying Spring more.  The kids have played outside, but for the most part we are cooped up inside and I am just ready to be outside planting things and playing with the kids.  Mother's Day can't come fast enough...that's when most of the planting can start around here...however, I must admit, we always jump the gun and do ok.  :)  Mother's Day is just too far away.    Unfortunately, we'll probably still get snow here in Colorado.  :(

So I am sharing a Spring card today done for sketch 124 over at Skipping Stones Design.  It uses their Heartsong stamp set (the "Hello" is actually from Heartsong 2 though).

Here's the card:

This card also uses papers and die cuts from The ScrapCake, from their My Private Happiness collection.  The chipboard butterflies come from Imaginarium Designs and the gems are from Prima.

And here's the sketch:

The sketch was created by the fabulous Dina Kowal.  I hope you take the challenge and play along with us!  *You do NOT have to have Skipping Stones Design stamps to play along!*  Play along here

And you don't want to miss out on what the rest of the team did with this sketch, check those out here:

And our guests for the month, along with Dina:

So, like I said, I hope you play along with us!  :)

And on a side note....anybody out there watch Eureka?  I just love this show.  The series premiere was on last night, and I was just left going "what!?!"  They've always got to ruin everything, huh?

THANKS FOR STOPPING BY EVERYONE!!!!
Have a fantastic day!!!

Life

Oh man...the whole family has been sick, myself included, and it's been exhausting.  So I haven't had time to do much.  But I didn't want you to think I had gone away, so I wanted to make sure and pop in and post something.

I created this layout for a lantern/banner challenge over on the BasicGrey blog.

I used the fabulous new Konnichiwa collection from BasicGrey, and just had a bit of fun.  This was actually a super easy and quick layout, even with the stitching.  And isn't that girl on the bridge fabulous? I just love that piece!  :)

Here are some close up's:

There's still time to play along with the lantern/banner challenge!  You have until April 26th.  Find all the details here.

Thanks for popping in today!
Have a marvelous day!
