Sketch 206 and housekeeping

Hi everyone! I am back from Jamaica! :) A lot has happened in the past few weeks (will share pics soon), and I am looking forward to getting back to a "normal" schedule.

Housekeeping:
* In case you missed it, a winner from my MLS Farewell Blog Hop post was picked by MLS while I was gone and posted on their blog. The winner is "BlessedInTexas"...so send me your address and I will get your prize mailed out to you. :)
* This MLS giveaway is still open. I will announce a winner for it on July 1st!
* If you wrote me an email, it may take a few days to get back to you. I have over 400 emails to go through.
* I have added some samples to the last sketch I posted, sketch 205. Sorry I posted it with only one sample, but there are several more now. :)
* MLS is starting to share their new lines for CHA this summer!!! Check out the first one today on their blog! :)
* Speaking of housekeeping...boy do I have a story to share. :) So in Jamaica we were staying at an all-inclusive resort. We were told that tips are included in the price and we should not tip employees on the resort. So on day 3 or 4 of the trip we had our housekeeping lady come to the door telling us how this was her last day cleaning our room because she was off the next few days. She basically was fishing for tips. We were polite but didn't give her anything. So later when we came back to the room we found our door unlocked and my swim suit missing. I searched the whole room, moving furniture, unmaking beds...couldn't find it anywhere! I did finally find it...rolled up in my carry-on bag from the plane...one I hadn't moved or opened since the first day we were there! I swear...our cleaning lady HID MY SWIMSUIT!!! Can you believe it? Crazy, huh.

Ok, well on to the new sketch for the week...

And here are some samples from the fab SC gals...

Scrap and Stamp Saturday

**Scroll down for my MLS giveaway!!!!

Hi everyone! It's Saturday, that means a new challenge over at Scrap and Stamp. The challenge this week is to make a layout that uses paint! Jowilna posted a fabulous paint-resist technique over at Scrap and Stamp and I just had to try it out on my layout. Here's my layout:

And here are the close up's...

You can see that paint technique on this close up. I took a foam stamp and painted it with cream paint and stamped on white cardstock. Then I sprayed Glimmer Mist over everything. After that, I took a paper towel and wiped the Glimmer Mist off the paint. I added more stamping with brown ink on top of everything.

I stamped a border around my whole layout with one rosette stamp over and over again. You may also notice from this picture that I sprayed my lace with Glimmer Mist too.

Wanted to show you this picture to show that the Glimmer Glass corner piece (from Tattered Angels) is popped up a little. I did this with Helmar Liquid Scrap Dots. The rest of the layout was put together using my Helmar Quick Fix Adhesive runner.

I just had to add a bit of stitching to my layout. :)

Well I hope you play along with us at Scrap and Stamp this week!
Have a fantastic Saturday!

All A Flutter

Hi everyone! So you have already seen several projects from me this month that use the All A Flutter line from My Little Shoebox. I showed you my Girl in a Bag layout, my Signs of Spring layout, and my Our Days album. I have one more layout to share with you and a RAK! Let's start with the layout...

And here are several close up's:

I also showcased two of our sponsor's on this layout. 1) Tattered Angels--I used a Glimmer Screen and sprayed Glimmer Mist around it on my background, and 2) Sakura--I used a black glaze pen and outlined my flourish that my template left behind. I also wrote the date with a red glaze pen.

Ok...on to the RAK. :)

Helmar and Scrap-Tastic

Hello everyone! This week all of the Helmar DT are featuring projects they made with the new July kit from Scrap-Tastic! Here is the July kit:

And here is a layout I made using the July kit:

All those papers are from My Mind's Eye. And those fabulous flocked letters and papers are too! I love those! Everything is from the kit except the glitter I used on the chipboard heart, that glitter came from PK Glitz. I used Helmar 450 Quick Dry Adhesive on most of the layout. I decided to spray that part I cut out with V2 Vellum Adhesive...yep, even though it was not vellum, and it worked wonderfully! I also sprayed the chipboard heart with the V2 Vellum adhesive before pouring the glitter on to it.

Here are some close up's:

I hope you have a fantastic Tuesday! I'm off soaking up the sun! :) Maybe I will get pics posted...don't know if I will have internet access or not.

Scrap and Stamp Saturday

If you are looking for the MLS blog hop, scroll down! :)

Hi everyone! The challenge at Scrap and Stamp is up (well I am assuming it is up, since this post was scheduled..LOL). The challenge this week is make a scrapbook layout about someone who inspires you, and of course, it needs to include stamping on it. Here's what I did for the challenge:

I chose to make my layout about my grandfather. He is no longer with us, but his legacy will live forever. He was such a truly amazing man...not because he was incredibly talented, smart or rich...nope he was amazing because he was selfless. He was always helping people, in his neighborhood, at his church, his family....anybody he met really. And he was so serving! For many many years he would go to his church and clean up and mow and just take care of a lot of things without ever asking or receiving anything for it. He just wanted to do his part to serve others. If I could be like any other person, I would want it to be like him. I love him and miss him. I only hope that one day people will have such wonderful things to say about me and the way I lived my life.

Hope you play along with us this week!

Have an awesome weekend!

Supplies:
Paper--Pebbles, Stickers--Basic Grey, My Little Shoebox, Jenni Bowlin and Mark Richards. Stamps--Tattered Angels, ink--Stampin' Up!, Plastic car piece ("Glimmer Glass")--Tattered Angels, Cork--Pink Paislee, floss--DMC.

MLS Farewell Blog Hop

Hi everyone! Welcome to My Little Shoebox's Farewell blog hop! We are saying goodbye to the current DT as we welcome the new one. You should be coming from Heather's blog. If you just popped in, please start the hop here. I have had the best year working along side some AMAZING women on the MLS team! I am extremely happy to say that I will be on the new team as well. But I will miss several ladies from the current team. Each one has been very inspiring. Of course, I will still follow their blogs and look forward to seeing all their work...and I hope you will too! :)

So this month I got to work with the "All A Flutter" line from My Little Shoebox. I had such a blast doing so too. Today I will share one layout with you (I will share more projects throughout the week).

And here are some close up's:

I used Helmar adhesives to put my layout together. Specifically I used the Quick Fix Adhesive Runner, and two sizes of Zapdots to make things pop off the page. :)

And it wouldn't be a blog hop without prizes, right? :) There will be 5 drawings for MLS prizes. The winners will come from those that left comments on the blogs involved in the hop. So make sure you leave comments on everyone's blog.

Plus I will have my own giveaway. To be eligible, simply leave a comment on my blog post and I will draw one lucky winner. :) Here's the prize:

It's kind of hard to tell in my picture...it's late, I should have taken it when there was daylight, but those really are 5 different colors: Gumball (red), Lemon Pie (more orangish), Kiss (pink), Celery (green), and Seaside (aqua).

Ok and now it is time to hop on to the fabulous and incredibly talented Melanie!!!

Have a fantastic day! Hope you stop in again! :)
