SSCC #32 AND Final Day of my RAKS

Hello everyone! I cannot tell you how happy this week has made me...I feel like I have made lots of new friends. :) I have enjoyed reading your comments, and I am amazed at how many new followers I got. You guys ROCK!!! :)

Well, today is the last day for me to be on the Stampin' Sisters in Christ DT. This is officially my last challenge. Although I will still be around and will still participate in some of the challenges now and then. :) Stay tuned to the SSCC blog to see some new (fabulous!) DT members. This week the challenge was to make a card or project that uses the Paper Tole Technique. This one was a new technique for me. If you are unfamiliar with the technique...basically, you stamp an image several times and then cut portions of the image out and layer them all so the pop off the page. Here is the card I made:

And here is another picture so you can see the technique:

The stamps I used are from Unity Stamp Company. :) Make sure you check out the challenge to see what the rest of the DT did as well as the verse for the week (it's one of my favorites!).

So if you get a chance this week, why don't you try the technique yourself!

And on to the real reason you are probably here...

Here is today's RAK:

It includes an album, some misting screen and four colors of Glimmer Mist...all from Tattered Angels! :) I must say...it's a pretty awesome RAK. If you haven't had a chance to play with Glimmer Mists yet, then now is your chance!

Now as for the rules...they are exactly the same as yesterday and the day before and the day before...

How to get entered into the drawing for this awesome prize:

* Leave me a comment on this post! :)

For EXTRA chances to win, here are two more ways to get entered into the drawing...

* Post about this giveaway on another site (blog, group, etc.) and then leave me a link to your post! :)

* Be a follower of my blog! Over to the right you will see the "follow" section. I have never done a giveaway where you have to become a follower of my blog...I kind of always thought of that as pimping out your blog. But then I was thinking about it and here is why I decided to go ahead and do it this time... 1) What's wrong with pimping out your blog? :) and 2) I have had many faithful and wonderful followers...isn't it ok to "reward" them for following me? Afterall, shouldn't they get a little extra love from me at times. :) So yep, if you become a follower or if you are already a follower, then you have another chance to win. Simply leave me another comment stating that you are a follower! :)

So there you have it! You have all week to leave your comments. I will announce a winner on Monday March 29th.

And for those of you who have been asking--

Yes--open to international readers as well
Yes--you can comment on ALL of the posts until I post a winner. :) So all RAKS are still open for comments.

HAVE A FANTASTIC SUNDAY (or whatever day it is where ever you are)!

Scrap and Stamp Saturday AND Day 6 of my RAKS!

Yep...the RAKS are still going! :) You didn't think they were going to stop did you? But first, let me share with you a little about an awesome challenge blog. By now you probably know that I LOVE to scrapbook and that I LOVE to stamp. So many scrappers seem scared to stamp and so many stampers seem scared to scrap. :) I love to stamp on my scrapbook pages. I want to encourage you to stop by the Scrap and Stamp blog and participate in their challenges!

**And they are having a design team call right now!!! Read all about that here.

The challenge this week was a bit difficult for me though. I just didn't seem to like the challenge...which is a challenge of 3: use tearing, a large title and stripes. Now...I'm not a huge fan of stripes or tearing. Large titles can be ok, but man...did I just have a tough time with it. I'm not really pleased with the way my layout turned out, but oh well...

Here are the close up's:

Just had to include that picture! :) It's like she's screaming "I don't like this"...just don't know if it was referring to the dressing her up or me taking her picture. :)

That cute little girl image is a digital stamp from Squiggle Stamps. She generously provided this for the DT to use on our layouts.

Hope you join us for the challenge this week! We are in need or more participants. :)

And now...

On to the RAK:

It's the new "My Family" line from Fancy Pants Designs!

Now as for the rules...they are exactly the same as yesterday and the day before and the day before...

Friends with Flair and Day 5 of my Giveaways

So it's been a little while since I participated in Friends with Flair...don't know why, I love me some Unity. :) Friends with Flair is a chance for Unity Stamp Company to recognize the work of their customers. And let me tell you, as an avid fan and customer, I sure appreciate that Unity does this! If you want to be involved in Friends with Flair you need to visit the Unity Splitcoast forum on Wednesday morning and sign up for Friends with Flair. Then on Friday you post a project you made that uses Unity Stamp Co. products.

If you aren't familiar with Unity Stamp Company, check them out! They are by far my favorite stamp company! In fact they are my favorite monthly kit. :) If you want to see other projects I have done with Unity stamps, click here. :)

So here is my layout that I made:

And here are some close up's:

In my picture the bow is covering up the bottom part of the letter "Y", but that was easily fixed...I just didn't take new pictures...sorry. :)

The stamps I used are:

Hope you all have a FABULOUS Friends with Flair Friday! And make sure you check out Unity's blog to see the rest of the FWF blog posts! Leave them some love too! :) FWF officially starts at 10am Central, my post may be up before the list is up on their blog.

It is a previous kit of the month called "Delightful Moments". Isn't it awesome? :)

SSCC #31

Ok...this is the third time I have typed this up! Don't know what is going on...but it is going to be a short and simple post.

The challenge at SSCC is to make a clean and simple card. They have samples of simple cards there on the blog. I find the "simple" style fascinating. I love the way it looks, on both cards and layouts, but when I try to do it myself...I just can't do it. I always feel like I have to keep adding things. But this time, I really tried to go simple. Here is the card I made:

Thanks for peeking! Check out the rest of the cards on the SSCC blog.

Ok, hope this posts fine...

Have an awesome Sunday! :)

Scrap and Stamp Saturday

Hello everyone! The challenge at Scrap and Stamp this week is a fun one. :) The challenge is to use masking OR heat embossing on your layout. And of course, it needs to include stamping. If you want to view a tutorial on these techniques, you can do that on the Scrap and Stamp blog. I used both techniques on my layout.

I've been thinking a lot about parenting lately, and how different my kids are. I decided to make a scrapbook page about the one thing they seem to crave the most (from us as parents). Now I know that all of them need all of these things and more, but this shows how different they are and what works best with each of them.

Here's my layout:

And here are a couple close up's so you can read the journaling (you can always click on them to view them bigger too!):

I used a lot of Prima on my layout (papers, felt, flowers, pearls) and the stamps are all from Unity Stamp Company.

I really had fun with this challenge and I encourage each of you to play along with us this week! I can't wait to see how your layouts turn out. :)

Have a fantastic Saturday!

Supplies:
Papers, Felt, Flowers, Pearls--Prima Marketing, Stamps--Unity Stamp Company, Ink and Embossing Powder--Stampin' Up!, Glimmer Mist--Tattered Angels, Mask--Heidi Swapp, Chipboard Letters (brown polka dot)--Basic Grey, Corrugated Letters--Jillibean Soup, Pen--Sharpie, 3D Paint--Scribbles, and Thread--DMC.

Life and the weather :)

Ugghh...I have been enjoying the nice weather all week and we woke up this morning to snowing! It's not that I don't like the snow...I was just ready for Spring...ready to take walks and play outside. But that's Colorado for you.

So...ever feel like you are at a stand-still? Like the world is moving on and trying fun new things and you are just standing still? Maybe waiting for something to come to you? That's kind of how I have been feeling lately. And the thing is...I don't have to be...there are things (fun exciting things) for me to do, I just have to get off my butt and do them! :) I don't know...I kind of feel like I am blabbering a bit...that people read this and be like "what???? what is she talking about?" LOL...sorry.

Here's a layout I will share with you:

Isn't it fun? I encourage you to leave your negatives for chipboards or letters and use them too! If you have a few left (like I still had some letters and numbers on this that I hadn't used) just put those in a baggie. Waste not, right. This layout uses papers, die cuts and stickers from Jillibean Soup. Of course those cute flowers are from Prima.

Oh and on a completely different note...I watched the movie "Everybody's Fine" last night...and I thought it was so sad! I didn't expect that at all! Anybody else see it? What'd ya think?

Hope your Friday is amazing! :)
