Why do we forget?

12 years ago I was in a pretty serious car accident.  We rolled 570 feet down a cliff.  Thankfully, we were all wearing seat belts...which we were told saved our lives.  After that I was a huge proponent of wearing seat belts!  I always wore them...I never forgot.  I would tell people to put them on when they got in my car.  I knew that seat belts were important and that they had saved my life.

Today, I was driving and I realized that I didn't put on my seat belt.  I have noticed lately that it doesn't seem to be as much of a priority as it once was.  I just sometimes forget.  I started to think about it more and how it related to God.  God has saved my life!  God has a set a fire in me.  Then why do we sometimes seem to forget?  We find ourselves getting to that point where He isn't as important as He once was.  He isn't such a priority.  And we just forget what a miraculous, life-saving thing God has done in our lives.

I don't want to forget.

I want it to be obvious that I remember daily what God has done for me!

And by the way...that accident was a huge, significant miracle in my life.  God worked in and through it.  God is the one who kept us safe.  If you want to know more about it...ask me sometime, because after I tell you the details you could never deny that God was there.

SSCC #24

Oops...this was supposed to go up early this morning.  :(

Well I am still sick...I've pretty much completely lost my voice.  I just don't feel well and wish I could spend the day in bed.  But I've got several projects and deadlines and can't do that.  So is life.

The challenge at SSCC this week is to make a card with an image of a child (or child-like things) on it.  To see the verse, thoughts on the verse and what others did for the challenge go here.

This is my card:

The sponsor this week at SSCC was Mo's Digital Pencil and I used one of her images on the card.

Ok...well I gotta get to work.  Maybe if I work hard then I can go to bed early tonight.

Have a great Sunday!

Scrap and Stamp Saturday

The challenge this week at Scrap and Stamp is to make a monochromatic layout that includes stamping.  So what color did I go with?  Well pink of course.  :) So here is the layout that I made for the challenge, it has a lot going on:

Man....Eryn is so much bigger then that now.  :)  Here are some close up's:

The papers are from Websters Pages.  I also used the "Unforgettable Moments Collection" from Unity Stamp Company (it is their current scrapbooking kit).  And then of course, I added some fun flowers and pearls from Prima.  Then I found a few other pink things to add.

I hope you play along with us!!!

Have a fantastic Saturday!  I am off to take my six year old to basketball practice.  :)

How can I not?

God is moving all around me! I feel like I have learned so many things lately. He seems to be getting me to do new things...with a "How can I not?" attitude. He has given me this voice, no matter how good or bad it is...how can I not sing out to my God? He has blessed me so much, how can I not give more? He has given me so much mercy...how can I not extend mercy to someone for something that doesn't even compare to what God has forgiven me for? How can I not? God is so good, and seriously when I sit and think of every time my God has saved me, and every time He has forgiven me or every time He has to nudge me back in the right direction...how can I not live for Him? He has to take His rightful place as number 1 in my life...and really how could I not put Him in that position...doesn't He deserve to be there?

More My Little Shoebox

And really...can there ever be too much? :) As we welcome the new lines from My Little Shoebox, we wanted one last hurrah for the old lines. So here are some layouts I made using a variety of MLS lines.

This next one is a two pager. I actually made it for a CK sketch call, but I failed to read the entire instructions and after making it I realized that it was supposed to be a Fourth of July layout...so now I just get to share it with you. :)

And this is an altered envelope. :)

Man...I just love working with MLS papers and products....they rock! :)

Hope you have a fantastic Friday!!!!

Icky

I feel icky...oh so icky, I feel icky and sicky and grey! (Sung to the tune of "I feel pretty" from West Side Story). Yep. We are sick here. In fact, my early riser is still in bed...which is where I wish I was. Don't you hate being sick?

Thought I would share this layout with you. It uses Tattered Angels products (Frosty Memories line).

Did you notice that "icy" looking strip of paper...I tried something new. It was white cardstock. I sprayed it with light blue glimmer mist and then immediately covered with extra thick embossing powder and heated:

Ok...well I am off to rest as much as possible. Have a fabulous Thursday!

Cut it out!

Hello! Today I am sharing another layout that I made for the Scrap Lovers blog. You will also find a tip. :) You've already seen one layout using it, but I really love the "Farm Fresh" line from October Afternoon. If you haven't already, make sure you check it out. You can find it in the store here.

I managed to snap a picture of my youngest son asleep in Eryn's lap in the car (who is also asleep). I thought it was too precious of a moment to let pass. Here's my layout:

If you ever learn anything from me I hope it is to not be afraid to layer!!! I do it a lot, as I am sure you noticed.

So here's another tip for you, another way to maximize your paper usage. I actually have shared this before on my blog, but it is worth repeating. I knew when I started making this layout that I was going to cover the middle of my background paper. So I decided to take my craft knife and cut out a few of the animals before covering my paper.

Then I could use those animals as embellishments on my layout. :)

And there you have it!

Have a fantastic Tuesday!!! :)

5 minute card!

The challenge at SSCC this week is to make a card/project that has a splash of green in it. My card probably has a little more than a splash, but....

Before I show the card I wanted to share with you that it seriously took me 5 minutes to make this card! I grabbed what was closest.

Here's my card:

To see what everyone else did for the challenge, as well as read the scripture and thoughts on the verse, go here. And I do hope you play along with us!

Have a great Sunday!

Scrap and Stamp Saturday

Well the challenge at Scrap and Stamp is up and it's an easy one! :) The challenge is to make a layout with stamping that uses your stash! Try to use some of your stash that you have had for at least 6 months. Of course, some of it can be newer, but the point is to use some of your stash! The sponsor this week is Queen Kat Designs. Here's the layout I made:

All those papers and die cuts are from My Little Shoebox. The stamps are from Unity Stamp Company. And those chipboard letters are from Pink Paislee.

I do hope you join us for the challenge this week!

And speaking of using your stash...don't forget the Use Your Stash crop that is going on right now here.

Have a fabulous Saturday!!!

Happy Friday!

Yeah!!! It's Friday! :) Thought I'd share another layout with you that I made for the Scrap Lovers blog. I used the "Farm Fresh" line from October Afternoon...and let me tell you...I adore this line!

Here's my layout:

Several close up's:

XXX

Did you notice the animals at the bottom? I didn’t want to cover them up so I took my craft knife and cut around the tops so I could lay my die cuts under them! Little things like this can always help you get the most out of your paper.

Ok, well I hope you have a terrific Friday!!!!!

Scrap Lovers :)

So while Christina is at CHA, she asked me to be her guest blogger on the Scrap Lovers blog. She sent me some fun goodies and a made some projects. :) The first one is a layout using the Cupid Collection from Pink Paislee. Here's my layout:

And some close up's:

For more ideas you can get from this layout, visit the Scrap Lovers blog. (Oh and that doily flower is from Pink Owl Paperie).

New Tattered Angels!

So I thought I would share a layout with you today that I made for Tattered Angels. You can see some new products on it. I just love the balloons. Most of this stuff is from a new travel collection. They also have new shaped masks which is what I used for the background and then stitched around it! :) So here's the layout:

Yep. I applied for my passport. We are going to Jamaica this summer. I am currently in the waiting stage. But I gotta tell ya...they really should look into hiring more friendly people to work for them (the passport people)...the whole process was a bit frustrating and the people we worked with were all rude and unfriendly. Just glad that part is over now.

Well I gotta run...Wednesdays are always busy busy busy.

Have an awesome day!

Sweet Girl

Hi everyone! So this layout I am about to show you is very interesting. ;) I didn't use any full pieces of paper, but a lot of leftovers. I followed the sketch and challenge on the My Mind's Eye blog.

The papers and die cuts are all from My Mind's Eye. That ribbon and the pink felt bird are actually from an etsy store that I like: Pink Owl Paperie. I have had them forever in my stash just waiting for the right time to use them. :)

It's funny, because we got wii fit for Christmas, and the whole family likes to play. Well Eryn is always trying to get in the way if they boys are doing it or wanting to join in the fun herself! :) I just had to grab some quick pics.

Well I hope you all have a fantastic Tuesday!!! My little girl is feeling better (she's been sick) and my oldest is home from school because no school today...so it should be a fun day of playing here.

And now on to the sketch for this week:

Scrap and Stamp Saturday

The challenge this week at Scrap and Stamp is to make a layout about a girl. :) Simple enough for some of us, maybe a little harder for others...just remember the girl can be any age. Oh and it needs to include stamping of course. :) Here's the layout I made:

I used several things from my Studio Calico kit. But I used a lot of extras that I had too. And those stamps are from Unity Stamp Company.

Here are some close up's:

I do hope you play along with us! :)

Have an AWESOME Saturday!
